Spartans are cool but i find myself drawn to teh ODST marines for some reason. ^^ Shame their armor isnt as advanced as spartans though they have the second best armor out of the unsc forces. maybe in future they have better armor.

Practically I did the colors and I have an older brother who does the line arts. but both of us have to use photoshop to fix some problems.

Sure no problem.
The way I did the icon was using photoshop and shrinking it down to a smaller size. Since DA has a specific size for it, that was the only way I got it to work.
I uploaded whatever pic I wanted to photoshop and played with the dimensons in one of the menus. I can't remember which menu it was under unfortunetly, since, I lost the program due to computer crash.
But make sure you save it under a '.jpg' and then you go to you main profile page and click on where your avatar should go. It will take you to the settings page. From there click on change your avatar and just follow the steps.
I hope that helps, sorry about not remembering the menu area of where the dimensons go. But that was the only way I know of how to get an avatar.
