"Futility"

Romans 8:20-21

"For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God."

When everything collapses around you, and when your mountain tops leave you wanting, it's a reminder that we are eternal beings, seeking fulfillment from the temporary.

"But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,

for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 5:13-14

Perhaps this is God's wake up call to you, to be set free from bondage to the temporary, and lay hold of eternity in the freedom and glory of God, through Jesus Christ.
