Depends on the size of the canvas, a typical one can take up to 2 hours though

One more question. At first, I used pencil to make the grids, but it came out way too messy. So I tried to use pen, but sometimes the paint can't cover it as good as I want it to..
Do you use pencil most of the time? Thanks!

I use pencil yes, but use a mechanical pencil with a .005 lead that will insure that your lines are as thin as possible, also use a paper or wear a glove as you paint so that you dont smear the lines across the canvas
