Wow... As a female all I can think is that with gazungas that big and a such a woeful lack of armoured support, they're going to be knocking round her ankles in 10 years. Guess I'm not the intended audience 😊

Regetroid is a good song and it has the right idea about Samus.

I thought "Sonic's Best Pal" was kinda..... messed up. It wasn't really all that funny and took the satire of such an innocent character way too far. Just my two cents. The only part I really liked about it was when Dan tried to call the cops at the end and got shot. That was actually a pretty funny three seconds.

Good artwork, Although the outfit is revealing too much, particularly on 'upper' body. My opinion is to cover it sufficiently. The lady is already beautiful, you don't need to reveal too much.

Good lord why would you even DO a NSFW version? Have you caught Sakimichan's virus?
Seriously, I saw that from afar, I thought "Wow, that looks awesome! A reskin of Samus with the detail and style of ZeroNis can't look bad!"
AAaaannnnddddd that overexposure kills it for me.
Honestly, every part of the suit looks great. The overall design and mostly the highlights are very cool, and the hair looks wonderful. Even the skin catches light in a great way.
But honestly, I don't even remotely like the idea you had to expose her breast and crotch that way. She's already wearing a skin-tight suit! THIS should be the NSFW version! Really, it spoils everything for me.

NSFW version because ''money'' and viewers that like that kind of stuff.
this person just draws pin-ups so it can't harm when its still covered.. so its yet legit if you read even the patreon titel ''AND NSFW PINUP GIRLS''.
what you did is not giving critic its more giving ''your opinion'' ( your idea) that you don't like it.. you didn't said anything useful for this person how to get better in art or skill wise
you know if you don't like it why even bother to comment :/
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Xholankha In reply to DesignCVH [2015-05-14 11:55:49 +0000 UTC]
I hate to think that only money is at fault. But it's undeniable.
Hey, I know he draws pin-ups, that's why I'm here in the first place. Because the others felt more legitimate, I don't know.
Yeah, about that, thanks for pointing it out. Look at the Pateon banner. The girl who's shoving her ass in our face. THAT'S what I would like to see as NSFW, not that Samus. That fits in the second category of what I described earlier.
Well, what's a critic if not an opinion? To sum it up, I said it looked overall nice, the design looks good and could also have looked better with that chest covered, and I explained what could be better as NSFW. I don't know where I'm not constructive. I state my opinion for sure, but my opinion is the base of a critic.
Honestly, I don't know how you can prove me wrong on that argument.
And really, if there's anything I can judge here, not being good enough as an artist to fully understand the technique, it's the concept. And I criticized it and explained why it doesn't work and how it could be better.
"you know if you don't like it why even bother to comment :/"
This. This is driving me nuts and makes me really want to kick your ass. I prefer to be honest.
This motto of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" is something used by victims who have a high idea of themselves yet feel like no one understands them. It's made for attention whores. Hopefully ZeroNis didn't say that himself, because I would have first unwatched him, then proceeded to flame his ass for decades with caustic comments. Just because I hate victims.
This shit you wrote right there is made by people who can't stand criticism and who can't grow. It's made for people who care so little about what they do that they don't deserve any interest.
I, however, have interest in many people's art, and that's why I comment when I see a good or bad thing. When it's good, I try to say why, instead of saying a dull "wow that's awesome"! Because this kind of comment first is boring, and then doesn't help at all. I think you're no stranger to the fact that you always think what you're doing sucks and doesn't meet your expectations, and I'm the type to think that if I can't like what I do, nobody can. And if they do, it means that they either don't care or are stupid enough not to understand basic things (because yeah, I'm pretty basic as an artist).
However, I think that when you tell people what you like in their art, they feel better, because it's something they've worked on for years. They feel rewarded for the attention they put in something, and I've had several responses to my comments because of this. None of the people who wrote sentences with 6 words max were thanked for their comment, but I was, and all the other who took time to say what was good and what was not.
As for when I comment on things that are not good or question what I feel to be odd, many artist answer too. they explain their vision if I don't understand, admit their errors if there are any, or say they'll improve. When I'm in the wrong, they point it out. They care for you to understand what choices they made and your opinion, especially whe it's different from others, matters to artists.
And you know what, sometimes, even I was rewarded for my bad critics. I've been doing the same things I did here in Sakimichan's gallery, claiming that boobies served no purpose. The EXACT SAME THING. And I added that some of it was good, but the NSFW part spoiled the whole thing, and that she should go back to what she used to paint, which was far more interesting and pleasant to look at. And people with the same thoughts must have been numerous, because the artist actually listened to us! And she slowed a bit down on the NSFW and made things totally pleasant again. She still had NSFW versions for it, but at least the basic versions could stand very well on their own.
TL;DR VERSION : I criticize because I care, should it be a good critic or a bad one.

How you ''criticize'' looked more of a whine because of the why question
'' I don't even remotely like the idea you had to expose her breast and crotch that way'' <- how can that even be critique
this sound like a demand of put more cloths on.
if you think what you are doing is right you should keep on going, but it can't hurt to re-think how you should give critique.
and nice motto thanks for sharing that.

Xholankha In reply to DesignCVH [2015-05-14 12:21:48 +0000 UTC]
Of course I whine to get more clothes on because it would look better! Criticizing is not just saying "that sucks" and walking away! I mean that's a critic but not a good one!
I have overplayed the negative aspect earlier, sure.
I'm lost. You totally lost me. What's a critique to you? Maybe if you explain then I'll understand. I don't know, it seems so obvious to me, maybe I'm in the error.
"and nice motto thanks for sharing that."
I'm not sure if you're actually thinking that or being ironic. I'll go with irony.

DesignCVH In reply to Xholankha [2015-05-14 12:31:49 +0000 UTC]
it would look better yea because all the designs of the Samus suits are best looking of the ''breast armor''
but its the way this artists draw these days and this is what the artist picked for.
as you said that artists do listen maybe he will prob will
but there is a huge fan base and income for him of how he draws now.
Critique is going about giving options and helping about how someone can get better
pointing out if something is wrong and how they can improve ''art wise'' mostly showing reference of how someone could get better. ( that can be hard because this artist is already considered as a ''pro'' )
not as a ''me'' form of i don't like this, more as a how would they think of how could ''i'' get better
no its not irony
it was interesting to read it

Yeah, exactly that. And I'm especially a fan of the pattern on the knees, and I think Zero would have come up with something great on the chest.
Eh. If it's a trend, the least we can do is protest and change it. I don't see it as a good one. When Twilight was popular, everyone was bashing it, until the bashing itself became popular. While I'm not saying we should really fuck people up when they draw this way, I think we can kill this trend and move on to something better. Like what could have covered those breasts.
How am I not (badly) doing that? I've given at least three options as for actually wanting to draw NSFW or making it less NSFW. That's exactly what I try to do, so we should understand each other.
By saying that I personnaly didn't like something, I tried to show that it was my own opinion, and that it wasn't an absolute truth. But then I explained why I didn't like it and how I thought it would look better. That's a form of criticism, I think.
Well damn I would have preferred though. I'm pretty certain that would mean you're a victim who can't stand bad critics. I'm sorry, but I wrote it in the upper comment while it was not directed at you, but now it is.

well thats a bummer that you think i am that.

I can't if I'm alone. But being a little spark among many that contributes to light a fire is an appealing idea.
Well, stating "useful" would have summed things up.
But if I need to explain my point of view that much, then my critic was bad.
I don't really do, it's just that you related yourself to things I deeply despise. I can't understand that you relate to something which has such a terrible portrait.
Plus, I'm certain you can take a bad critique once in a while without whining that kind of motto. so I understand even less why you like it.
Good for you if you like it, really, but now I'm puzzled again.

if you want people to follow you up you should try make a group?
i never related myself to this artists nor the picture i don't see where you got that from.
the only thing i was saying is the critique you were giving is not helpful for an artist to improve.
and just suggesting that it could be brought out in better words?
this is the first time i even said it to someone so ofc, i like that motto because its the first time i saw it
and you assuming of how i am, i don't mind that you are trying to do that but its really off topic

Xholankha In reply to DesignCVH [2015-05-14 15:24:11 +0000 UTC]
It's more of a personal crusade, even if I don't like that term. I'm not fond of making groups, let alone the ones that would track down artists going on the "wrong slope". I just wander around, when I find something I like I say it's nice and explain why, when I find something I don't like I leave it be, and when I find something I don't like from an artist I usually like, I make it known.
No no, I'm not talking about the artist. It's just the "Nothing nice to be said, nothing said at all" thing. But I'll leave you alone with that. That's indeed totally off topic.

good thing this wasn't made specifically for you, then. this was done the way it was, because as an artist, Zero has the freedom to do so. i happen to be of the understanding that unless you happen to be directly paying for pieces like this, your individual opinion on whether or not this one "should be the nsfw version" is absolutely not a factor. point blank.
and calling it a virus is the longest fucking stretch i've ever seen, i hope your arms don't hurt too bad.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Xholankha In reply to arashiyanagawa [2015-05-14 10:55:47 +0000 UTC]
Well obviously I wouldn't have asked for that.
How come everyone sees this just as butthurt when I'm backing it up with constructive criticism (or what I think it is)?
Plus, if I don't have my word to say, why would he put it on the internet, where I can actually say whatever I want? Just for narcissism, to read that he's awesome and be glorified, so no one has the right to say they think what's going on is wrong in their opinion? Dude, that's not so far from totalitarianism!
No seriously, the more I read that, the more I'm afraid. If everyone thought like that, we'd be paying to play Skyrim with mods! Hell, we wouldn't even play Skyrim with mods, because fucking SOPA would have passed!
Again, instead of indirectly calling me a prick, why don't you come up with something better? He does the SAME THING. I think that "virus" is the best choice of words to describe something that I personally find negative and that is spreading. I could have said "plague" too.
Just a little something : curious how not a single person who has answered my comments today is actually an artist... I don't think it relates, but I'm not so sure it doesn't.

So, curious...
What do you hate more? Zeronis doing these kind of pieces or the fans that support it?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Xholankha In reply to SwordoftheQueen [2015-05-14 10:28:19 +0000 UTC]
Most probably the fans that encourage him. But the word "hate" is very farfetched. I don't hate him, if I did I wouldn't have added him in my Watch list. And I don't hate this one either, only parts of it as I said twice already.
But yeah, if fans support this kind of work, then we have to expect to see it again in the future, and if it ends up like my favourite comparison material Sakimichan, you'll have 60% useless NSFW and 40% actual respectable work. Hopefully he's a real professionnal, so the projects he works on will keep the gallery on the higher level, but I'd be much more supportive if he went full NSFW. By that I mean that it would be more than just an exposed character with a pose that's not even suggestive.
And to sum up how I feel about fans, it just seems that they will like anything you throw at them, as long as you're a good artist. And that's not how it works.
