A good piece of art, but is there a reason you changed Jim's skin color?

Did you know that Jim Knopf is the great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather of Mark and David Knopfler and the great-great-great- great-great-great-great-great-grandfather of Jenson Button?

How long it takes to create this characters, they are amazing, I'm planning to start using dazstudio with a mesh called Aiko and paintover. I know about anatomy but, for clients having a basemesh that u can pose and over paint can save a lot of times, maybe doing life drawing from time to time on the weekends can maintain the brain muscle healthy and don't get rusty. Any sugestions? keep it up the good work by the way.

Very nice design, but... Why is Jim like... tanned, but still white?

Even though Jim Button was black...

He was definitely black in the original story. It appears that he was still black in the first drafts but than suffered from the same skin disease as Michael Jackson.

It's sad because that's what made the whole story more unique, in my opinion.

In the book he is the last son from the family of king Caspar, the black wise man in the bible who visited together with Balthasar and Melchior (also known as the three kings) Jesus after birth.

My first thought too...
Reminds me of the controversy over the movie The last Airbender.
There all non-caucasian characters from the cartoon were played by caucasian actors.
Are African or Asian heroes really so unthinkable?

It appears so.

I really don't know - it wouldn't have made a big difference making him black. Why not keep him black then?
