I'm bit opposite, I know how it should look like, but I just can't get it right. I think I should start the project with the drawing the BG first?
After a few hours my concentration and motivation usually nose dives, and that might have something to do with the crappy backgrounds.

That would certainly be different. I think drawing the character first THEN a BG that suits the character makes more sense.
Same. I used to be able to keep drawing for hours and hours a few years ago.. Now I can't for some reason. I think I need a psychologist.
