Roleplaying is what inspired me to write more. Some of my stories are a creative ways of explaining my rp sessions!

RPing 24/7 is a waste of time. I used to RP all the time as a kid. I have friends that rped like that. Especially sex. All some people rp is sex and that's not what rping is about. You waste your time because when you should be getting shit done, you don't you end up rping your day away. Get outside. Have some fun. There's more to life than RPing. :I

Hm, I see what you are saying there, but not everyone roleplays sex when they roleplay. While sadly, it seems, most do these days...there are some people who only thinks roleplays are to fill there sexual fantasys with horrid generic 'females with big boobs and wide hips' or 'males with a handsome figure and six-pack abs'.
While yes, I do roleplay, I don't exactly like to roleplay things like well...sex. Sadly though, really how things are right now, its pretty well almost unavoidable when it comes to that genre. To me, that's not good at all. Also, since most people like making there characters, the ones they make up for roleplays selfserts, then wouldn't it kindof be like Cybersex, something not allowed on DA? I think those sexual roleplays also fall there in the Cybersex category as well. :c
And no, I don't roleplay 24/7 like some do. While I am on DA often, I usually have other tabs opening to do things like schoolwork and working on the schools website and blog. I only sit on DA for a while in the chatrooms to wait on the very few online friends that I got there...who never really show up it seems until I have to go for bed/school it seems.

The whole idealism in RPs is just fantasy but they need to know that they can't do it forever, all day everyday.
It's okay to roleplay, I just shake my head when people do it all the time and really leave no time to do anything. I've had friends before who did this, it is BAD. :C And yeah I noticed most people who make RPs make Selfserts so they can live vicariously through their character, including cybersexing. I've seen horrible cybersex rps that people rped as themselves (usually their "fursona") I've seen these people who do it in public get banned for it. (Why no shame?! It's like having sex in public, but with masks!)
I don't expect everyone to RP 24/7. I just hope people don't. And that other person I was talking to sounded like they do, and it's just too unhealhty to not leave some of your time to do other things. It can turn into an addiction like anything else. I'm glad you do your homework, and do other activities. I've seen some not go much outside of their own IM box just because they wanted to RP all 14 hours of the day.

I agree. Roleplaying, while it can help you at times with your writing (which is the main reason I roleplay in the first place, to try and improve on my fail english/grammar.), that does not mean you gotta sit with your face in the screen typing all day. I really just see roleplaying as a way to improve on your literature skills and to kill some time, NOT as a way to fulfill my fantasy's and desires.
I don't blame you for shaking your head at people who roleplay all the time, I do the same thing when people put real life off just to roleplay. Yeah, I have saw that kind of thing happen with those selfsert characters as well while browsing around on DA. There was this one users page that had a roleplay going through his userlookup that fits into the cybersex category...must have been too hard to write notes back and forth... then there was also someone on, to my surprise, Neopets, who had written onto his lookup that he was looking for someone to do sexual roleplays with. While he did not straight out put sexual (Neo would not allow it anyways), his way of saying he wanted it was still rather obviouse through the filters. :iconfacpalmplz:
I also hope people don't spend there lives roleplaying all day as well. I guess if its a once in a while thing its not bad...but when its everyday and all day...there is a problem there. I have met a few people online who would skip school and fake sick just so they can roleplay. I think sitting and roleplay all day is just as unhealthy as sitting on the internet all day or being a couch potato with a bag of Lays by your side. I feel real life should come first, then roleplay, sadly...most people think I am nuts when I say that. Oy...I have seen cases of that to...and I have to admit, like I said before, I sit in the chatrooms all the time just waiting for those friends who most of the time don't appear, but I think if you must sit at your box all day...why not get other things done? For example, get homework or whatever you need to get done that involves the internet done instead of just sitting there staring at the computer screen.

Totally! I think RPing can be useful. It's just that I find it a waste when I thought people RP through life as if they...won't make one for themselves. I worry for others, really!
Yeah, and there's been cases where guys/girls ditched their gf's/bf's for RPs. And it can hurt relationships if people don't know how to prioritize. Oh gee, that's really creepy.

I just shake my head at those kind of people. While I have not had a BF/GF in a long time, mostly due to not being interested in dating at the moment, I think its plain out rude to just forget about them or your loved ones just for things like TV, Video Games, and Roleplaying.
A job is a very important thing to have, I have actually been searching for one as well, since I am only going to school for part time and such. Sadly, jobs are hard to come by in most locations, so sometimes its understandable that people don't have jobs with how things are these days. I have a older sister, who is 22, she is a couch potato as I would like to say. She does not have a job, and does not plan on having a job, and like me, she gos to school for part time. She spends her time locked into her room all day with her laptop watching Two and a Half men and the sports channel instead of going out and at least trying to find something.
