Description Placed here because I don't want it damned to a life of Ramen-smelling weaboos.
I'm not sure how much tlc the contrast & gamma need because I scanned this at a friend's, so we'll see. Pencil, prisma markers and sharpie. The outfit is closely inspired by... er, hell. It's Beat's outfit from Jet Set Radio Future.

Nothing nice to say/no constructive criticism? Then leave.

Very nicely done, but what's a weaboo?

An Anime-obsessed person who openly refers to themselves as "Otaku". Generally American and typically high-school kids, a weaboo refuses to eat anything that isn't Japanese (excluding energy drinks) and keeps a ration of Pocky on-hand, probably has an inu- or neko- demon character for art and roleplay purposes, mispronounces commonly used Japanese lingo, will always add "-chan", "-san" or "-kun" to the names of everyone they talk to, and adds "desu" to the end of every sentence. A weaboo's iPod generally has massive amounts of Gackt and Malice Mizer, as well as one or two songs by an array of obviously Japanese artists, and probably entire EPs by Yoko Kanno. When asked who X Japan is, however, they will answer with "Nani?", give or take the "desu".

How long does it generally take for you to make a drawing like this?

Pretty colors. God, I can't color worth shit... Do shiny pens like that really make all the difference. Those things are expensive.

You should check out my gallery, that or be e-mail me. *poke* I have an IM thingy now... Same e-mail if you have Yahoo Messenger. Yeah.

This took me Probably about 2 to 2.5 hours. The drawing itself took an hour alone, the inking took probably about 30-45 minutes, and the colouring took up the smaller half of the time (generally when I've got a drawing as well planned out as I had this one, the colouring is set firmly in my mind so therefore comes quick.)
Fancy pens really do make all the difference because the brand-x crap kind you find in most stores have horrible limitations. With alcohol-based markers you can colour over a layer as many times as you need to make shades darker, mixing colours makes for much nicer and easier to shade results, and there are certain blending pens that let you turn two different tones into more of a gradient.
I use Prismacolours, which you can buy at Aaron Brothers or Michael's for $2.99 per pen -- It's a real wallet-raper, so I highly suggest you buy them in bulk from somewhere like eBay. I bought a set of 30 or for under 50 bucks on eBay.
Copic markers are the Prisma's little brother, they're essentially the same pen but the difference is Copics are harder to produce fantastic results with. A novice with Copics looks like a kindergartener compared to a novice with Prismas, but an expert with Prismas looks like a grasshopper who learned from an expert with Copics. So I'd recommend getting a small set of Prismacolours to learn with, then get Copic markers later if you ever decide to become serious about colouring with concrete mediums as opposed to Photoshop and friends.

Wow, that's a long time, but definately worth it because it is just fantastic-on-a-stick.

Yay good advice!

*laughs* Yeah, I've seen the prices of those pens...didn't know you could get them on eBay though - that I'll have to look into! I bought a got a black Prismacolor a while back and it made my happy sparkle. Haven't really used it much thought it'd be good for inking with because thick lines are hard to get otherwise.

Ooh, I did get Photoshop finally though. I heart it, but I do want to color by hand too.

If you use that black Prisma for colouring, you can actually make multiple shades of black (can you believe it??) Yeah, I was amazed that black had more depth to it than I thought Those markers are the best.

I like that Hard is rooted and squared. I like the sense of depth between the text and the ladyface.
