Description
All you Star Wars fans will know where this came from. This scene is kinda morbid but don't blame me for what happened to Oola, blame George Lucas.I think I was like four when I first saw "Return of the Jedi". I remember being scared by the whole Jabba's palace scene, with one of the more suspenseful moments being when the dancer, Oola, gets dropped into the rancor pit. Fast forward to when I was about 12 and seeing the movie again for the first time in years and it was like "Wait, did her boob just pop out of her outfit?" (rewind, slow-mo) "Oh my god, it did!"
In the re-release they added an extra scene of her in the pit but I think that was mistake. (Well I think almost everything they did in the re-release was a mistake, but one thing at a time.) When you see her in the pit with bones on the floor and that door starts to open it gives away too much. In the original she gets dropped through the floor, everyone gathers around that opening and you hear her scream. You know something bad happened to her but you have no idea what and your imagination runs wild. This helps build the suspense better for when Luke gets dropped down there to fight the carnivorous rancor. And don't even get me started on that stupid CGI musical scene they threw in there. It was hard to find anything serious or scary after that nonsense. I do think it's funny how many of the old animatronic effects aged better than the newer CGI they added in, which just looks out of place in this movie. (If you liked the re-releases that's fine, I'm not trying to argue, I'm just giving my opinion.)
Anyway, I've ranted on long enough. Enjoy your slow-mo free Oola boob.

Beautiful work! She looks really cute, even when she's scared.
I didn't like Oola dying here either, so I changed it in my version: fav.me/d916kih . Thank goodness we never actually see her get eaten.

Yeah I was kind of sad for what happened to Oola.Β It was such a waste of a hottie.Β The Palace scenes really aroused me when I was young.Β I had nothing but dirty thoughts going through my mind while seeing Slave Leia and Oola.Β Twilek slave girls are meant to be kept, not killed.Β

I love this, especially the angle and the rancor's mouth framing poor sexy Oola and her last moments. There's never enough art of her. Just a stunning piece here.
I kinda prefer the scene of seeing Oola in the pit but I'm an Oola fanatic so more scenes of her is fine by me. I get what you're saying though. Yeah the remade band scene was a bit much though I did like the backup singers they added. They should have done a modern-ish remix of Lapti Nek rather than a whole new song.
Though funnily next year will be the 20th anniversary of Special edition A New Hope. Soon the special editions of 4, 5, 6 will have been around, official longer than their original cuts were. Maybe it's time to update the updates, though I doubt Disney is as into constantly fiddling with finished products and George Lucasing them.

Thanks.
I think it would be great if Disney would just release a BD that let you choose which version you wanted to watch.
