I am astounded.. I think no piece 'dedicated' to or based on the concept of Middle-earth has struck me as much as this, and this is coming froma hardcore Tolkienite. You are correct, * scotto has discovered it numerous times
, but this tops even many of his interpretations.
It's the sheer multitude of the mountains that grasps me here, that and the ghostlike quality the mist gives them.. And indeed to somebody familiar with Tolkien's writings, this will be an exceedingly apt depiction of the Hithaeglir, or Misty Mountains; the blues and whites create the fantastic atmosphere, doubtless felt by all who adore the 'Lord of the Rings', and the mist is, funnily enough, the icing on the cake. It is not only a realistic element in relation to its fictional peer-mountain chain, but it deepend the sense of inclusion and relatability somehow. The utter realism and utter fantasy of this shot allow the reader to be a part of and mesmerized by this setting at the same time, something few people are able to do..
An absolutely beautiful and heart-stopping tribute to the visual genius of Tolkien; bravo.

This is a really really neat picture The mist makes it great, and I'd like it even more without the ridge with the tarn at the bottom of the frame...

Now this is one eye-catching bit of scenery! Your LOTR refference is spot on IMHO.
I like the subtle color of the mountains as they peirce the mist. The tonal values of the mountain tops in the background and the glow of the sun on the mist is especially well captured.

Astounding piece of art.
There are absolute freedom and greatness in mountains. They are natural and everlasting and they touch some strings in human souls. Views like this are like good music or like inspiration- they come suddenly mixing sadness and plesure and leaving lightness and joy.
Thank you, and
