Great dex entry. Keep it like that.
Hmm, maybe have them live around thermal vents, in the dex entry?? Though, the name does suggest they live near/in a reef...hmm...

This was made in 2014.

I think he either didn't know about Volcanion and wanted a Water/Fire type to exist, or he wanted a non-legendary Water/Fire type to exist.

Pyreef usually swim in large schools around coral reefs and are often seen helping to harden and protect coral pokemon with their flames, in turn the coral pokemon protect them from harm, and although they do not generally stray into the territory of tropikelps there have been records of the two schools uniting to defend the pokemon of the waters, in fact some theorists have speculated because these to pokemon are so close in genetic composition they may have originated from the same ancestor

How about Flame Body for the Hidden Ability?

And maybe for the dex entry:
"Fishermen try to catch Pyreef at night, because they glow brightly in the dark, unfortunately they can burn through most fishing equipment."

"Their strange fire actually works underwater, and can set a bed of sea grass alight."

"At night, they seem to glow a reddish-orangish. Some say that this is because they are made of fire."

This doesn't look like a Luvdisk evolution. This is an angel fish Pokemon.

"Pyreef serve as the janitors of Orohn's oceans.  Pyreef travel in large schools, and these schools will consume any solid waste they find.  Their bellies produce massive amounts of heat and fire, melting anything they consume, and breaking it down into digestible nutrients.  If Pyreef become too cold then their inner flames will go out, killing them.  Thus Pyreef live nearest to the surface of the ocean, warming themselves in the refracted rays of sunlight."
