'They're not trees Nyght... This if a forest of flames.' GrulffConcept for the background styles of the 'cutscenes' in my game 'A Nyght's Tale'.
This is the first dreamworld, Umber Forest, although its a forest of flames as opposed to leafy greenness.
The thing is the very background is a giant candle like tree, that houses the Umber Wendigo.
Inspired by 'Majin and the forsaken kingdom'

AHHAHA, loved it. Can't say it is original though...seem a few using this style now more then never, but yours are well done. Really would like to play in a graphics set like that. Keep it up!

Thankies, and no its not very original but suits the game.
Unfortunatly the game isnt played like this though, this is just the cutscenes.
The game is played like a normal 2d rpg.

Id love to make a side scroller like this, would be fantastic.
But at the moments theres not really an easy way to do so without super complex coding.. which i really dont have time for lol.

Yeah, it would give some extra programming work on rpg maker. But that's ok, perhaps one day

I think the warm oranges make it so cosy and inviting.
Nyght's tale in a nutshell, is Nyght traveling into his dying daughters dreams to save her from nightmares that are draining her life. The big fat thing is Grulff, a giant hairy ogre. [Who shares many traights with Teotl its scary to think, considering i created this stuff a looong time ago]

the orange colors do, is just invites you in, it's very pleasing to the eye. 8)
ooh! o3o i'd love for you to make this a short comic, it's just got that nice plot thats small, but you can do so much to it!
and it's ok. xD ever play Okami? I made a sequal to it, BEFORE okamiden was decided, and hedre I am, looking like a ripp off artist cause my story is so alike with okamiden.

I know how u feel about feeling as if ur ripping off an idea, Nyght's Tale and Majin are soo simular its crazy. They even have virtually the same enviroments, yet i created it long before majin. [Theres the forest like in this pic, thats not in majin, then theres a ruined rainy bit like in majin, a dusty white desert like in majin, a sparkly crystal like place.. like majin, and finally a big castle place at the end]
Even the ending is fairly simualr, if u catch my drift with the mean majin bit.. lol

ugggh, same here. with my story, I made it wher eit's okami's son, and he now saves the world this time, and heres okamiden, doing the same thing, it's even a boy also! atleast he's not black in the game, mine is. but gosh, it's just crazy. even more of my story looks like a ripp off. >.<

Im making it with RPG Maker VX, so its going to be a 2d rpg style game. I did have an officaly website for it, but its gone so i cant really show you much, but im planning to get more screenshots and info up somewhere at some point, so ill let ya know when i do so.
I do have a test screenshot for the in-game graphics though, just so ya can have a peek. [Its all subject to change, and still very much a work in progress]

Oh super, glad you likage. Im planning to have something out in terms of demo very soon. Even if its just a tech demo so to speak. Peeps have been wating a long time to have a taste of Nyghts Tale.
