This is the picture I said I was working on to kick of 2010.I spent about 15 hours on it, which, is more than I've spent on any digital picture so far. Hopefully the effort shows off

The effort really does show. There is so many little details in this! The most I've spent on a digital painting is 8 hours, and I think much of it was redoing other things...
The breath effect or the shelf in the background I think are probably the most interesting parts of this.

This is amazing! I can definitely tell you spent a lot of time painting this. You covered up almost all of your pencil lines without losing your soft painterly style. I especially love the trees in the background as well as the fox's fur and cap.

I'm sure you've been asked this before, but did you ever read any of the Redwall novels? The type of characters you depict (esp. foxes and otters) really resemble the personified-but-not-completely-humanoid animals in those books. I like it a lot. You've got a great style.

Yes. I have had quite a few people tell me that my characters remind them of Redwall.

Hahahah...I take it that means the correllation is unintentional.
I'm sure it's always meant as a compliment (as was the case with my comment), though I know how it feels to be frequently compared to something else, as opposed to being viewed as original. One of my own pet peeves is when someone says my character designs look like anime.

Yeah, I know they're not trying to be mean or anything, so I don't get angry at them.
Personally, I believe that my art is quite distinct from Redwall, however the only reason that people compare is because I draw animal-people.
