This is the First page of my entry for 's Black Nexus OCT contest. I figured out, after the first panel, that solid colors with highlighters was a bad idea.[this is a manga and reads right to left]

I think it has some very good bits, but i think you need to do a few more things to make it a bit better.
I do like the cross hatching thing you have going on, it does look kind of cool, but i think it needs refining. I think you sould have done all of the hills like that, but getting lighter with the hatching as you got closer to the light source.
On the clothes and hair it works well though. The skin colour looks good, but a little bit more shading would be really good.
There is one other thing that would make this a lot better too, and that is the first panel, the BG colouring on the sky and the hills, you can see the lines where you have coloured, if you colour in little circles instead it gets rid of that problem.
The people are totally fine and the poses and expressions are good.

It has some very good stuff to it though, but when people normally ask they normally mean to critique. We all have our parts to work on and i hope my tips will help
