has a contest going on where the objective is to make a design of the Martians and their Tripods/fighting machines to possibly be featured in his Godzilla/War of the Worlds fanfic.

I based both of these designs off of the original art and descriptions from the HG Wells novel. The two front tentacles of the Martians are used as prehensile arms while the other 4 limbs are used for transportation. As for the tripods, they have very sturdy proportions to stand against Godzilla. The left tentacle is the blaster, the middle one is used for retrieving humans, and the right dispenses the poisonous black smoke. An alternate design for the weaponized tentacle can be seen at the far top right. Also, the probe is very similar to the 2005 version.
