It is the first time I upload a marine reptile in my gallery, so, it will be my favorite.
Mosasaurus hoffmannii is a big Mosasaurid from Maastrichian Europe. It is one of the largest member of its family, with a maximum length estimated between 13 and 15 meters, maybe more. The genus Mosasaurus has a big head, and is more robust than Tylosaurus and Hainosaurus, two similar sized Mosasaurs genera. It has large eyes but a poor bonicular vision, and probably lived near the surface. This marine squamate was the first discovered member of its family, the first specimen was unearthed in a quarry from Netherlands in 1764 and was indentified as a toothed whale (it's something like the reverse story of the Basilosaurus, who was thought to be a marine reptile when it was discovered), but it recieved its definitive name only in 1829 thanks to Gideon Mantell.
I've realized that this Mosasaur poses in much the same way as this toy .

Probably, it's one of the longest Mosasaurid and it has a more robust constitution than Tylosaurus or Hainosaurus.

Thank you! I tried to keep the black and white look very common among pelagic animals, and that at least a Mosasaurid had, while add something more original, hence the white markings and the orange line (that was first supposed to be blue but who cares).

I tried to add volume to this fella, so I'm happy if someone mistake my drawing for the repaint of a toy.
