Description
F/A-27CA/DA ("A" for Aetosian) is one of the candidates for the Marine Light Fighter Competition. It has been fitted with 2D Thrust vectoring technology for superb maneuverability. The one seater version has been modified from the Air Superiority role to the Swing-in Air Dominance role. The two seater version, the F/A-27DA, was also offered and it was to provide for strike, recon and training roles.

Since 2011, some remaining F-5E/F Tiger II's has been showing their age, and the Royal Aetosian Marines have decided to select an advanced fighter from other countries, because of the rising costs of the F-35 JSF, of which the Marines had 2 squadrons equipped.The Royal Aetosian Air Force and the Royal Britannian Marine Corps also had problems with the JSF, so they decided to select the runner-up, while the last placing candidate will be used to replace aging Aggressor Squadron fighters. The RAoAF will use the runner up candidate to complement the F-35A and F-16E Block 60/62/70 and replace the remaining F-16C Block 40's, while the RBMC needed to replace their last remaining Tornado SGR.4's.
