YAY! you will be the only person i even slightly know. all my friends dislike anime, but i think thats because i like it so much. however, i might be able to force 1 friend to come, but then she would make me swear to watch gossip girl with her every time i go over to her house, so there is a tradeoff. *sigh*, it is hard to make friends when you are homeschooled...

wait! there has been a mistake! i am the one in the middle with her death note open! i wish i was as good a cosplayer as the one on the far left, but sadly, i am not. but hey, it was my first cosplay and my first con. i was really shy and nervous because i went by myself, but HEY STOP MAKIN EXCUSES! sorry that my definiton skills suck. i just dont want to be an identity stealer. You should take a class or something, or just teach yourself! ^^ I really just decided one day to sit down at my sewing machine and figure it out. That was before I even knew what cosplaying was. <33 I've loved sewing ever since, haha.

wow, that is really awesome! anyway, i have 2 questions.
1. did you use a pattern for the outfit?
2. where did you buy your wig?

1. XD I never really know how to answer that pattern question... Um, well, I partially used one, if that makes any sense. I took an existing pattern (of an elf tunic, actually, it was the only one I had that was any good) and altered it into a vest.
What I would recommend for you is to find a pattern that looks the closest. You might have to change it a bit because I've never seen a pattern that looks just like Mello's vest. XD Especially with the little collar and everything.
2. This is the wig that I bought: [link] in the color 24B. It's been out of stock for a really long time, though, but it should be back soon. <33

thanks! anyway, i was out shopping tonight, and i saw this PERFECT material for near, so i decided to work on my sewing skills (because the pj pattern i found says "very easy", but im still kinda iffy) before i tried something that takes lots of skill and expierence, but i am making sure i keep this, so thank you a LOT!

XDD Honestly, for Near, I would just buy the stuff! PJ patterns are easy, but still not at easy as buying. ^_^;

yeah..funny thing is that... I SPENT ALL MY MONEY! i had to buy all this death note stuff, and my mom really wants me to sew, so if it is materials or patterns and that kind of stuff, she pays for it ^-^;. and i figured, well, better work my way up so i dont screw up when i buy good materials! well, thanks again, and now i will stop bothering you!
