Not bad Why the heavy texture paper?

Thank you. :> If I recall, I think the professor wanted us to use that paper specifically for our at-home work. I didn't like it much myself.

Is it done in charcoal or graphite. If it's charcoal, using a paper with more tooth makes sense.

It was charcoal. I know toothy paper is the traditional choice for that, but I got so accustomed to drawing on newsprint during class that the transition would bug me. I'm still getting used to charcoal as a medium - there are probably many reasons why I couldn't get it into the "fibers" of the paper, but they escape me!

I don't think it's necessary to fill in the paper, I think it's like that to prevent unnecessary smudging. There are different ways to handle charcoal just like any medium. Check out Henry Yan's art work if you havn't already. [link] It's so smooth. (:

Keep up the good work.
