My entry for s contest

It was an another ordinary evening at the volcano range. Cyndra was checking out the area, smiling to herself. Nothing could spoil this wonderful, beautiful evening.
But then suddenly, she heard someone shouting her name. As she turned her head, she saw Coal running towards her, face twisted in fear.
"Cyndra, come quickly! There's an unknown dragon that's attacking our younglings by the lava lake!"

Cyndra was stunned. Attacking children? Whatever was the intruder's reason, it could NOT be forgiven. "Hurry now, Volcra-sama is fighting it already!"

As Cyndra and Coal arrived to the fight scene, they saw the intruder. A big purple dragon, bigger than Cyndra and Coal together, was on the ground, snarling at Volcra. Volcra had collected all the children behind her wings, and roared, " How DARE you to attack these children!!???!? How twisted your mind is to do something that cruel!??!?" The intruder just grinned, and said "I'm hungry."

Indeed, the dragon looked skinny. "I've been travelling for three months in this pitiful volcanic wasteland without a single meal. Now that I finally found some prey, Im going to feast." A grin spread to the intruders face as it crouched and sprang towards Volcra and the children.

Cyndra and Coal could just watch. Volcra sprang towards the dragon, but with a powerful sweep, she was thrown aside. A ball of acid-green flames burst out of the dragon's mouth, and to the surprise of all, as the flames hit the rock pile next to Volcra, they burst into flames too. She tried to attack once more, but with an another slash, she was knocked unconcious.

Cyndra was furious now. Even when Coal tried to prevent her, she charged head first towards the intruder. Caught by surprise, he wasnt able to dodge Cyndras attack. Cyndra hit her teeth to his neck, biting as hard as she could, and feeling something warm drippling between her teeth. A deafening roar filled the air and Cyndra could feel that her feet were no longer touching the ground. The dragon tried to rip her off, but she just held on and slashed, punched and kicked him as hard as she could.

Finally she couldnt hold on any longer, and she felt how the dragon grabbed her neck and held her away from itself. Seeing its blood-red eyes, flaming from anger, she knew that she wouldnt last much longer. But she couldnt give up. Not now. Even as she saw the acid-green flames rise higher from the ground, and saw the greenish ball of bare energy forming on the hand of the dragon, she knew that she couldnt give up. For the sake of her fallen leader, for the sake of the children, for the sake of her homelands...

...For the sake of her family.
