Checklist after checklist, just like them. Soon enough the contest hall staff came to call up the two, leading them out of the dressing room and into the darkened hallway leading up to the stage.

"Would it kill you to try and breathe before the showcase?" she mused, offering her trainer a warm smile as they walked side by side. "We've gone over the coreography so many times you'd probably know it in your sleep."

Deta stopped in their tracks, wringing their hands after a moment of silence before settling down onto the picnic blanket behind the curtain.

"I have to concentrate."

Calypsos laughter was a trill in the corridor leading to the stage, filling the air with a joyous static. "You're always concentrating! It's not like you could even fail this even if you tried. They'll love you."

Deta scoffed.
"I'm not worried about embarassing myself."

A questioning gaze from the Gardevoir prompted a quiet answer as the curtain twitched, slowly starting to rise.

"I want this to be perfect."

"For you."
