these are made with gradients, playing with opacity and i think in overlay or screen i dont remember

Beautiful use of textures. Really like the contrast between dark rough denim and clean white areas.
Only thing I don't think really sits that well with the rest of the design is the very top- navigation bar (submit, follow etc) buttons. But besides that, I really like it.

I think what you did here is interesting and nice but there's room for improvement.
Firstly, fonts on the left would be more legible at 12px.
I really like your texture though I can't find reason for the jean texture. It looks cool and all but once shoud
design from a brand perspective. If it was a clothing company, it would make sense. If you can give me a
good reason for it (the story behind the choice), I'd buy it.
The other point regarding texture used is that you have to think about if it becomes overwhelming. Does it take away from the content or distract too much.
Btw, love the black wood texture in the background.
The thing you did with the logo under 'The Team', please don't do that. Never distort a logo when provided
by a client. Th same goes for 'featured' area on top left. If something like this is done, it should be done
properly to retain the characteristics of the logo which means it would require a 3D program.
Now the major problem I have with this concept is the cluttered feel I get. I love the white section on the left but i feel as if it needs more space. The content needs more breathing room. In other words, consider positive use of white space.
Overall, you did some really creative things in the design like the stitching effect or how you wrote 'Depthskins LLC' in the footer. Speaking of 'footer', what you did with the logotype, putting it in a dark pocket or something. I'd strongly suggest you don't do that.

Since i started designing i have a problem with fonts, i think i still need to improve. Thanks a lot for the link.
About the jeans texture, i was thinking in what you say when i was making it, you are right is not conecction between jeans and a critique, but i use it to attract atention and to give a "younger" look, or make it more attractive for young people. I try to explain it but now i see i miss it. The idea is to mix the clean and white with some urban style. As you only provided de logo, for me it looks pretty much urban style, the font, the design, i thought althought there is no relation between them, a jeans texture will help making the web unique and attractive for all ages.
I made appologies for distorting the logo, i didnt know, ill just change it when i have time. I wanted to give the web a like more depth with this, that was all.
Finally i see what you mean with "cluttered", but this can be fixed pretty fast and easy making the page a bit wider wich is now 900px i think.
Im willing to make another, more serious design for this contest, but i wanted to do someting of my style, something not so serious and well detailled. I knew before estarting that maybe its not exactly what you had in mind, but i wanted to give this style a try.
Overall, thanks so much for the critique, it really helps, and hope more people participate.

Nice response and explanation for your choices. I really like how you designed around the logo. Since you got 'urban' you went for that style and that's the main connection.
I'd like to see the update. Remember, don't add too much space so it looks wasted. Very nice style and it's unique.

dawn it i cant find the web now, but yes, there are textile patterns, rock, paper, sea, etc... but most of them are not very good
