I made the brushes I used in this one. Most apparent one is the glowing flower petals. A lucky mistake when trying to make scales.

I like it. I like the background. Up close you may not like it too much, but I think it helps the thumbnail view.

And while it may have looked better without the background, I beleive that having a background is better than not having one.
The way you incorporated green into the fish's scales is excellent.
It almost reminds me of some sort of spirit fish rising up and bringing petals with it.

The texture is nice because that fish REALLY pops. I'd like to see less busyness with the bg, though, the flower petals seem to be alive and invading. o_o
Still a very artistic fish that is believable.
