Colours by Reggie Graham

This is for 's Sonic Art Collection Book. I had a great time coloring this in! It took me awhile to figure out what colors to use all around, but I ended up contrasting the blue, red, yellow, and green colors of poker. Blue in the foreground with Avery, there is already green with Tex and Jolt and the table, yellow all over the place, and a hint of red was added to all of the guys at the table.

Enjoy!

I like the table. It reminds me of an old Simon game.

great colours! you really made the environment that they are in seem very real and beliveable. that helps set the tone and the characters actions really well in this one and your colours are exactly what it needed! nice work as always!

This is gorgeous, and your explanation of how you decided on the colors makes it even better.

Awesome! There's a lot of happening and I like their detailed outfits. There's a lot of different colors and the shadings are smooth. This is full of life. You both did a great job!

Thoughts?

Crisp, clean, vibrant colours that doesn't empower or conflict with one another. You definitely set the tone with not only the colouring work but also the application of an interesting set of textured shadows (Avery's left shoulder for instance).

I love how you utilise your own lighting source (I'm imaging an oil lantern in the setting - like the ones you find in the mines) and cast those interesting shadows with the other characters - it's as if their shadows are telling their own story too in the set piece.

The way you coloured the eyes was something I haven't seen before either - using lines and strokes to determine the tonal value of the iris - that is most interesting and works really well in a setting with limited lighting.

The attention to detail you put into your colouring work continues to surprise me and amaze me Reggie. Great job and thank you too for taking the time to colour two projects for the magazine!

Oh and as for the table - WINDOWS! No TWISTER! No... Oh never-mind. lol XD
