Nice job with this, Ziggy!
I must say, though, that I liked the other version better. I just thought the darker, grainy texture on the last version fit the mood better. You also didn't include some of the more robotic features you put on Metal Sonic in the last version, like the glowing red eyes and the sparks of electricity flying out of him.
It just seemed to work better than cell shading. More detailed, I guess.
I'm not saying cell shading isn't awesome in it's own right, though. I also LOVE what you did with the last few text boxes. I think whoever does the coloring for the comics from now on should consider making the robotic text a different color- maybe good robots have green text, evil ones have red, that sort of thing.
Anyway, keep it up!

Well, when I showed Ian Flynn the original, he told me that they wouldn't use the painted style of coloring because it's so hard to print, and that the special effects make it too busy.
Thanks!

Ian Flynn responded BACK to you?? That's funny, he never responds to my E-mails. Jealousy...
But yeah, I can see how that wouldn't be very cost-efficient. You're welcome!

Your already looking like you belong in the comics
How long have you been practicing cell shading then?

These colors are absolutely amazing. I like how you made Metal Sonic feel like actual metal without losing the cartoony vibe. If I may offer two minor nit-picks, the use of orange on the top panel is somewhat jarring, and the red speech balloons would look better if there were small variations in the shade rather than a solid block of color - maybe a gradient between two similar shades of red? Oh, and I'm just noticing this now, but it's very clever how you used the lighter shade of sky in panel four to help emphasize Sonic.

Yes, yes I do. The question is, did you think my suggestions had merit, or were you just trying to placate me because I'm an obnoxious jerk?
