Description Whew. This one really make me sweat. Here is the original version: [link]

And for more info:

After the Secret invasion, Norman Osborn, (AKA Green Goblin, Spider-man Nemesis), had takeover SHIELD, (the spy agency from Marvel) and put together his own Avengers team (Dark Avengers, as in the 90 every was extreme, today everything is Dark) and put himself in a armour, becoming an amalgam of Cap America and Iron-Man, calling himself Iron Patriot.
Problem is Norman is a Supervillian and, as I see it, he eventualy will return to his evil roots. Some hint has been already given.
I suppose he will return as the Green Goblin in full fashion (I hope) but sometimes, I fear, Quesada (Marvel comics EIC) will be tempted to create the Iron Goblin, an Iron-Man armour which resembled the Green Goblin image. I mean, they had an Cap armour right now!
Why would they do this nonsense? I mean, one, this already was done in DC by Jeph Loeb in the first story from Superman-Batman with Lex Luthor (Supervillian with the legal absolute power put in an armour and screw it because he is mad). Just look the story on the DVD SUperman Batman: Public ennemies
But they will wanted because they will have a new figure to make it a toy.
So I draw here, to exorcise that idea from the creative minds at Marvel.

[EDIT] 15/04/2010: Siege is almost finished and I like to think that my little devoodoo worked. Still, there could come a what if post Siege in the future.

[EDIT] 10/30/2010: Well, some time later after finished Siege, and we never saw the Iron Goblin. But you never know what could bring the future what ifs.

************************************************

Uf.

¿or qué iban a hacer esta tontería?

that's as close to iron goblin we should ever get without ruining the character. he looked like a freakin evil kamen rider(I actually like that show the japanese version)

Please, I would not be alive in this generation without had been see the Spider-man movie. Even if that first movie was good (the best of the trilogy in my opinion) that versión of the Green goblin, with a helmet instead a mask, make all the expresive qualities of William Dafoe lose them. The scene with the mirror is the best one.
In part, this image is inspired in that suit too. In Newsarama I read an articule wich speaks about the differents goblins clothes and which is the concept behinde him, as some kind of conceptual opposite of Spider-man (he show a face, looks like a magical being, and use science for personal gain).
Not exactly like Iron Patriot.
And yes Kamen Rider is an excellent show.

true. I like that version of green goblin for the fact that it reminds me of kamen rider but I still don't think they'd go directly to full on mechanical armour for the goblin identity yet(maybe a version more similar to the movies first?)
what I want to see is movie Menace or Ultimate Menace

MASTER-OF-SUPRISE [2010-04-12 22:21:46 +0000 UTC]

why I don't like the idea of an iron goblin the picture itself you did pretty good. they may not need to kill him i.m.o they do need to give him a very long break.

O yes, but a very loooong break.
SO, Siege is upon us and there is no IG (Thanks to my voodoo, I like to believe) but yet, in the What if of Siege, still could be an Iron Goblin. Scary.

Osborn's fall? Yes, very soon.
Iron Goblin? God, I hope not. Too much obvious.

maybe he will finally end up in the graveyard of forgotten/misused villains like he deserves to be... he used to be the greatest enemy to spider-man, and he lead such a great role... now he's practically a shell of his former self, regardless of how much power he has accumulated... atleast to me anyways...

I doubt it. He will lose his actual position, but don't think he will die. No, now again will be a travel to the funhouse. Why kill him if he will come back again? I mean, everyone always come back sometime: Superman, Goku, Sherlock Holmes, Jesus.

Aerorious In reply to Ziggyman [2009-12-01 21:20:11 +0000 UTC]

LOL good example with Jesus! but still, wether they kill him off or not, I don't see much reason for him to remain right now... sure its okay to bring back a character every once in a while, but thats just to keep things goin and re ignite a spark in potential stories with said character. but sometimes certain characters get overused, and "milked" of their potential, after which its good to give them a break to refresh their chances if they return.

Right now I don't see a reason to Norman to be alive. Hell, Marvel don't know what to do with him since the Clone thing.
