I remember discovering some time ago the old story of Superman red and Superman Blue, the original one, not the most recent. And I tought about the revisionims and deconstruction from old stories and how in the present days those ideas would be revisited under a new light, or better said, under a new shade. Because it was a light funny story about how a world with two Superman, product of a lab accident, caused to Superman to create two new Supermen, one dressed in blue and the other dressed in red. And both Supermen solved all the problems of their world with their superpowers, including their romantic problem of the time, with one Superman choosing marry Lois Lane and the other choosing marring Lana Lang. In the 90's the story was revisioned with it was a different concept. Still fun, but different. The original was a product of its time.

But what if the original story could be revisited, more close to it original conception? I think the old Superman red/Superman blue story would end with both Supermen clash one against the other because their perspectives of how to solve the problems of the world would put them in opposites political sides. And it is because as the old story was fun, it also had a certain innocence about how to put certain solutions for the problems of his time, solutions very disturbing under the perspective of modern society, as using global mind washing satellites to erase evil and exiling native mer-people from earth to other planet to avoid cultural clash problems.
It sound worse than what really was, an innocent story with crazy ideas, but when you revisited those ideas you always discover certain aspects and qualities not totally innocuous.

So I imagined this scene, at the end of a second part of that imaginary story, where one of the Supermen questions the measures taken and wondering if they are doing the right thing for the greatest good or are just acting like villians and the other, willing to defend those actions. In the end, would be an allegory on how the same starting concept can derivate in opposite political ideas.

Recuerdo haber descubierto hace algún tiempo la vieja historia de Superman red y Superman Blue, la original, no la más reciente. Y pensé en las revisiones y la deconstrucción de viejas historias y cómo en los días actuales esas ideas serían revisadas bajo una nueva luz, o mejor dicho, bajo una nueva sombra. Porque era una historia ligera y divertida sobre cómo un mundo con dos Superman, producto de un accidente de laboratorio, hizo que Superman creara dos nuevos Supermen, uno vestido de azul y el otro vestido de rojo. Y ambos Superhombres resolvieron todos los problemas de su mundo con sus superpoderes, incluido su problema romántico de la época, con un Superman eligiendo casarse con Lois Lane y el otro eligiendo casarse con Lana Lang. En los años 90, la historia fue revisada con un concepto diferente. Sigue siendo divertido, pero diferente. El original fue producto de su tiempo.

Suena peor de lo que realmente fue, una historia inocente con ideas locas, pero cuando revisas esas ideas siempre descubres ciertos aspectos y cualidades que no son totalmente inocuas.

Así que imaginé esta escena, al final de una segunda parte de esa historia imaginaria, donde uno de los Superhombres cuestiona las medidas tomadas y se pregunta si están haciendo lo correcto para el mayor bien o si simplemente están actuando como villanos y el otro, dispuesto a defender esas acciones. Al final, sería una alegoría sobre cómo el mismo concepto inicial puede derivar en ideas políticas opuestas.
