Description As I created this image, I had an interesting conversation with my daughter, who has actually spent time in an orphanage. She wanted to know why the angel wasn't giving the kids families. I had to think about this for a couple of minutes before answering. Then I told her, "This is all this angel has to give."

With that being established, my daughter agreed that these were quite acceptable presents.

Thanks. I originally started this image as an entry to a contest around "angel" images. I was going to show the angel giving a child a gift representing knowledge. Then it was going to be two children, one boy and one girl, in a setting reminiscent of the Nutcracker. Then I realized there were practically no decent clothes for the kids. So I went off on a side trip to create more interesting textures for a couple of low-cost existing clothing sets for them, and submitted the plumbing angel to the contest instead (which nobody much liked, I guess). When I returned to this image, I guess somehow /Girl Genius/ and /Madeline's Christmas/ got mixed up in my head and this was the result.
