Doctor Ivan Robotnik came from a family of geniuses with his grandfather Gerald and mother Maria. Ivan's life took a huge turn early on when he was one year old and the "ARK Incident" stole his family away from him. Ivan was dumped in an orphanage under the name Ivan Kintobor and grew up to be an incredibly smart child, graduating from college at 10 years old. Before making it to college, there was an incident where a bully punched Ivan in the face at lunch and humiliated him in front of their fellow students. Ivan would get his revenge a few days later when a device he built would attack the bully and cause him to spend the next year eating through a straw. This action also resulted in saving the bully's next victim, a kid called Leonard Stone, who from that day would follow Ivan wherever he went an assist in any way possible. During the course of college, Ivan would get 5 PhDs and after graduating, he would hone his skills in taijutsu and tracking with the Native American Shadow Wolves. In his late teens, Ivan would be recruited by the US Military to engineer advanced weapons of war. Ivan would go on to create some truly effective weapons, but also keep some of his more advanced creations to himself. Ivan would also discover that his superiors were keeping a file on him and also other files about his past. Ivan discovered everything about the ARK Incident and also about its cover up, also the fact that his real name was Robotnik and he had a family that was taken from him. From this moment on, Ivan struck out on his own and vowed to make the world a better place....for himself, by making machines that would eventually replace all living being (minus Stone, Robotnik still needs his latte).

To create his machines, Robotnik has built many factories across the globe and many of them were in hedgehog territory, causing local hedgehogs to fight back. Robotnik felt such matters were below his attention so he let Stone take care of them. Instead of killing these hedgehog fighters, Stone activated the IDG (Inter-Dimensional Gateway) and sent many hedgehogs to another dimension, leaving only a few left in the world. Years later, Robotnik's plans would hit a roadblock in the form of a little blue hedgehog with an annoying speed streak.

This Doctor Robotnik's look is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 appearance of Dr. Robotnik and in-story, there's a figure from Robotnik's memories as a one year old of a person, he can't remember him fully but he remembers this person sporting black, red, and gold and took the colors for his own look.
