Old friend of the Flame Empress and a deadly accurate needle thrower.

Mai came from life of privilege where he every need was met and very little was actually her own, with even her future being decided for her with being arranged to marry Zuko and unite their families to become even more more powerful in the corporate world. The only things that were all Mai's own were her lessons with dagger and needle throwing from her favorite servant and the love of her little brother, Tom-Tom, who was too young to be poisoned yet by the wealthy world they lived in. When Mai's friend Azula came around and showed off a new villain suit she created and a plan she had, Mai wanted in and to get some sense of freedom in her life, so Azula developed some needle projectile devices and gifted them to Mai and she developed a new masked identity as Dread Needle. This duo eventually became a trio after coming across and recruiting the villainess thief, L'acrobate Rose. Together, they burned, knifed, or stole everything in their path. No one could stop them, that is until The Unity formed, made up of heroes like The Avatar, The Painted Lady, The Tribesman, The Kyoshi Warrior, The Blind Bandit, and The Blue Spirit.
