Nikhita Battacharya was only 9 years old when her own Hybridization hit her like it did so many other seemingly random people of Omina City. As a result of this, she was separated from her family and sent to the quarantine zone of the city which would be come to be known as The Zoo. Nikki was put with other hybrid kids who didn't have their parents, but she still felt alone among them. Most of them were afraid of her because her hybrid form was a predatory species and they were prey. They outnumbered her 10 to 1 but the fear was still there. So Nikki one night took off with the only other predator kid, Sarah Kensington, who was a 16 year old Komodo Dragon hybrid. Sarah wasn't big on social interaction, among other things, but she needed an ally to escape their situation and make it on their own.

After making it out, Sarah started to collect computers while Nikki was bored and started to explore the quarantine zone and came upon a comic book store. There she started to read all kinds of books (at super speed) that her parents told her were pure nonsense and made her focus on other things. Her favorite was The Dasher, a super fast hero who fought against bad guys bigger and more powerful than him. This admiration caused Nikki to want to help others and so she started crafting a superhero identity, first with her name Fast Kat and then with her "costume." She got the shirt, shorts, and shoes first, then got the goggles and protective pads after a few fights and crashes made her realize that safety was a big part of the job too. Nikki even found a large patch with a cheetah on it that would be perfect for her hero symbol and sewed it to her shirt (as best as she could). During this time, Sarah was getting deeper and deeper into hero digital work and Nikki was once again alone.

One day, Nikki was out on patrol when she saw two snake hybrids about to devour a small mouse hybrid and she swiftly too them out. An owl came by and Nikki was prepared to fight it when the mouse told her that was her dad. This father and daughter were Emilio and Kylie www.deviantart.com/zigwolf/art… and as thanks for saving his daughter, Emilio would give Nikki anything she asked if it was possible for him. All Nikki really wanted at the moment was or a place to stay, her old home was filling up with computer servers, which took up space and were loud. Emilio welcomed Nikki to his and Kylie's home and Nikki found a great family to call her own while she couldn't be with her real one. Nikki still checks in on Sarah and last that she heard, the reptile was becoming one of the resourceful hybrids in the Zoo due to her digital expertise. Sarah had set up livestreaming and currency trade for the Zoo when something like that was made impossible by the people running it. Sarah wasn't even going by her name anymore, she was now known as K0M0D0.
