Before his transformation, Tembo was Abasi Gensahn (originally Archimedes Geneson), a college biology professor.

After the DNAftershock, Gensahn was turned into an elephant hybrid and with no one getting any answers to why people have changed into animals, Gensahn took it upon himself to research every new aspect of Hybrids and find out why they all changed. He works in a basement lab with whatever computers or research devices he's able to find and now calls himself Tembo to avoid others learning his true self and using that against him.

Tembo's abilities are enhanced intelligence, perfect memory recall, prehensile trunk, superhuman hearing and smell, and gargantuan size and strength.

For his look he was only able to make due with what he could find for a hybrid of his size, now being 9 feet tall and 450 pounds. His shirt is full size mattress sheet, his lab coat was the one he had back when he was human but because of his growth, it clings to him more than before, his shorts are elastic ones a heavy weight boxer would wear and he's got a weight training belt to keep his outfit together. Tembo has to make his own glasses in order to see and even made his own wristwatch which is actually a full sized wall clock and finally Tembo is missing half of his left tusk because predator hybrids were trying to cut it off to sell on the black market.
