A reimaging of the Captain Ferguson from The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo.

In his time, Captain Fergus was a feared pirate who led a crew of merciless men to pillage and plunder every ship they met. During a storm, Fergus' ship, The Sea's Vengeance, was forced into the Bermuda Triangle. Fergus and his crew would be forever trapped in the triangle if not for meeting the ruler of the triangle, the demon Bermadu. Fergus wanted to know what it would take for him to him and his crew to escape. Bermadu said that they could escape if 1000 souls were brought in their place. Fergus agreed and had a curse mark slashed into his forehead, binding him to his task which he had a year to complete. For the next year, Fergus and his crew not only took treasure, but prisoners as well for Bermadu. In the last month, Fergus was short on souls and planned to betray his crew to satisfy the last numbers owed. But on the last journey into the Triangle, the new cabin boy Norville, was frightened by the sight of the demonic Triangle and abandoned ship without anyone noticing. In the triangle, Fergus offered his crew to fill the remaining numbers, but Bermadu said he only brought 999 souls. Fergus was shocked to see Norville no where in sight and that this traitor now cost him his soul. The betrayed crew turned on their captain before they all died. The cut off his leg so he couldn't run away, cut off his arm so he couldn't defend himself, cut off his head to land the killing blow, and they tore out his heart, for they felt that he was a truly heartless being. Though the triangle would never let anyone inside it die, the captain returned as a revenant, one who served Bermadu and went out into the world to bring more people into the triangle. Throughout history, anyone who disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle did it with some influence by Fergus even if he never directly met with them. This would stop in 1991, when Fergus took over the military radios and tried to get pilots John Verde and Paul Lucaris to head towards the Triangle. Vincent found Fergus and forced him into the Chest of Demons and at the last minute saved the pilots by giving them new directions to go in. Fergus was trapped for decades until a group of teen and their dog freed the ghosts from the Chest of Demons.
