Starfire's design for mine and 's Teen Titans revival.For her design I wanted it to be sexier than her last costume but not show much skin so I switched her skirt to shorts, gave her a "power girl" shirt hole. But I also wanted to make her costume seem like it advanced from the last one so I gave her sleeves and a new belt. I also gave her longer hair to better match her comic self.
In the revival history, it's been 2 years since the last episode, Robin and Starfire are broken up and she's dating Red Arrow now. She co leads Titans North with Red Arrow and their team is made up of Argent, Red Star, and Wildebeast. But a new threat is forcing her to go back to her disbanded Titans team and save the world.

Oh yeah, I forgot I put that in her story. I'm just gonna retcon that little split. It was made before I got a full grasp on everyone's relationships.

But I do like the costume itself though. Looks like something the comic's Starfire would wear

If I ever redesign this version of Starfire then I'm gonna add some black into her design. My reasoning for this is that Starfire's powers come from absorbing ultraviolet radiation like sunlight and black clothing absorbs heat faster than any other color.
Which costume ? The New 52 one or the current one right now ?

I think the whole backlash to that costume was blown way out of proportion, it's barely more revealing than the first costume she sported.

The only thing I'll agree with is that her chest area is more exposed, but looking at her original and her New 52 costumes, I think they both show the same amount of skin.
Yeah, I didn't like that change to Starfire's personality. Whoever wrote her, made being promiscuous her only character trait. Writers keep getting it backwards, first you think of a good character then add a character trait, not the other way around. It might of have been a good talking point with her sleeping with different men and someone calling her out on it, but she counterpoints that a man can sleep with many women and wouldn't be called insults, while women who sleep with many men are called sluts or whores.

Exactly. Heck, in the ORIGINAL Comics, while she is sexually open, Starfire doesn't just go around sleeping with random people. So far the only ones I know for sure she slept with were people she was in a relationship with. She's just a LOT more open about sex than most humans were and didn't really have any known taboos about being naked and what not, that's really it. Her culture was just rEALLY different and thus there is that. The writers there didn't really do a good job there. (Heck, the DC-You comics that came out sometie later made her a bit of a mix between classic Comiccs and her 2003-series counterpart...in that she was literal minded like the 2003 version, but was as open and friendly like before FLashpoint)

Yeah, that way in the original comics works. Sleeping with random people sounds like a how those writers wish women were instead of how they are. If they talked with some women who date a lot and open sexually then they might have gotten New 52 Starfire right. Huh, I never thought of the whole different cultures thing but that makes a lot of sense. I think it might have made for a good segment of a comic issue if someone talks to Starfire about the openness of her culture so we get a better understanding of it and then it could come up (probably by Starfire) that humans are so obsessed with sex yet it's one of the most repressed, frowned upon subjects of talk.
Well at least the writers in the current Teen Titans comic are getting Starfire right. She's a trusting teammate and looking to take lead on the team since Damien is letting his negative aspects affect how he leads. Indeed. Honestly I DO like one thing about hte DC-Animated MOvies;
Starfire is the leader and seems to be a pretty effective one at that. Nightwing is just their main ally and likely second in command when he comes to help out

Yeah, that was one thing I liked about Teen Titans: Starfire had her fears about being leader since her teammates instinctively went right to Nightwing as their leader when he was around instead of her. Dick made sure that she knew that he wouldn't undermine her on purpose and reassures her that the team chose her to lead and things are settled between them after that. It's these small moments that really let you know about a character.
