Description
My redesign of an old sketch of Trigon.I decided to give Trigon a more traditional demonic look instead of just a red guy with horns. Here he's not just an ordinary demon he is the actual Devil. He uses the name Trigon to trick his worshippers into thinking they're praising an entirely different being. The angel Trigon is holding is Raven's mother, Arella, making Raven an angel/demon hybrid.

Trigon: Even after everything that Iβve done, Arella, every world Iβve conquered & destroyed, every life Iβve tortured & taken, every soul Iβve claimed & devoured and after... every pain,... every horror... & every nightmare Iβve inflicted upon our child, you should despise me, and yet you donβt. Why... do you still care for me? Why... do you still believe that there is any good left in me, even though Iβve proven time and time again that there isnβt?...
WHY DO YOU STILL LOVE ME?!!! ( As heβs saying this, the very air fills with unbearable heat, his voice filled with so much rage, power and aggression, and tears of black, acidic blood drops from his eyes)

It's a remarkable design choice for Trigon considering that it makes him more like the malevolent Fiend, and the interesting touch is adding Arella, now as a Messenger.

This is cool.
Originally I thought he was one of many demon lords.Β But hey actual Satan is cool too.

Thanks.
I thought it might make him more interesting as a character to be the actual devil instead of an interdimensional demon.

Yeah, can be confusing.Β Especially Marvel comics, you have a lot of demons who claim to be true Satan.
Mephisto. Some other guys actually called "Satan", then recently they brought back Lucifer.
Doesn't help with the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider's backstory, which keeps jumping between Mephisto and Lucifer who took his soul .... :/

Yeah, definitely. There needs to be a clear hierarchy for devils and demons in order to make some sense and we don't confuse one for the other.

In my head (because I'm obviously insane) I always saw it as, there being a one whole leader like a King, who was leader of EVERYTHING, and many demon uh ... Mayors whom govern other realms/cities of hell.
Maybe :v
it's an interesting concept.
But yeah this Trigon is cool and your "Angel" Arella is a cool idea.Β Gives Raven a sense of duality. Maybe that would make Raven prophesised to be Redeemer and/or Destroyer. Monster and/or Messiah ^w^

With Marvel, it's all about the Multiverse, different dimensions, and multiple godly pantheons, but with DC, it's more supernatural, more Christian/Jewish religion, and the only other godly pantheon being the Olympians.

To be fair, both DC and Marvel are about multiverses now.
Different dimensions could be anything, Heaven and Hell could be seen as different dimensions.
I'm kind of tird of Multiverses. :/ Can't we just have one universe?
π: 0 β©: 1
Azog220 In reply to JasonVoorheesfurry [2018-01-09 14:01:18 +0000 UTC]
True about that, but originally, Heaven and Hell were apart of the main universe in DC and is more prominent in it than it is in Marvel. Just look at the Spectre, as his origins states that he was one of the angels who rebelled against God, but was given a second chance as the Spirit of Vengence.
And with Multiverses, it allows us to see how one decision can affect a universe. But I would like to see one straight forward timeline.

That's true.
Originally that's also true with Marvel, with Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider.
It seems a lot of fiction is going the multiverse route hell even bloody Dragonball Z/Super has gone that route or Multiverses.

Azog220 In reply to JasonVoorheesfurry [2018-01-09 15:07:10 +0000 UTC]
With Ghost Rider, he made a deal with an inter dimensional being who pretends he's the Devil, and the spirit that took the place of Johnny's soul is being call Zarathos, who built a cult on Earth before the Dawn of Man. Mephisto became jealous of him and enslaved him, sending him to possess humans in the causes of sin, corruption, and vengeance. He has had three hosts, Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, and Alejandra Blaze, transforming each into Ghost Rider.
Each tv/anime series is trying to make their own Multiverse/movie universe to catch up with Marvel, so that's why this is happening.

Ghost Rider's origin has been retconned several times.
Originally and once again in the 2006 arc called Vicious Cycle he did make a deal with Lucifer.
It was then revealed later in that arc that the Ghost Rider isn't a demon, he's the "Clenched fist of God".
Zarathos isn't all Ghost Riders, for example he was never with Danny Ketch, in the 90s issue he was bonded to Noble Kale (later retconned to being the Spirit of Vengeance that Noble Kale had been possessed by)
And about Zarathos it's confusing ... since it was revealed the angel Zadkiel made Johnny Blaze the Ghost Rider.
The story is all over the place.

True, but weirdest one out of all of them is Robby Reyes, whose Ghost Rider spirit is his Uncle Eli, a serial killer and a human spirit, so I don't know how that works, unless Eli made a deal with some other being to become a demon or demonic spirit.

Now that is a really good version of trigon/satan, much better than new 52. By the way I've got a question which could be used to help flesh out this character more (and is a question that I can't believe that no one has ever asked before) Why was there an army made in heaven BEFORE satan rebelled. And no, I do not have that wrong as it clearly states that he was the highest general of the angelic armies. So, why would there have been an army in heaven before evil had even began. Why did angels know how to make swords in the first place if they had no one to fight against. Sort of makes the bible have a huge plot hole, huh.

Zigwolf In reply to Bookdud3 [2015-06-18 16:41:16 +0000 UTC]
Thanks.
As a christian (and not one of the crazy ones) I understand that all religions and especially mine will have some moments where nothing makes sense and I'll be told some weird explanation instead of a straightforward one. That plot hole you said actually has got me thinking and the only way I could probably explain it is that the armies were there because demons existed to fight against even before Lucifer fell, I mean hell existed before the war since God didn't create it to cast Lucifer into.

Thank goodness,Β someone understands where I'm coming from (usually people just ignore me and/or say I'm wrong) Now this is just my family and my idea, but as we study things like the bible or Greek myths extensively since my mom is writer, we've come up with a pretty interesting idea as to who or what was fighting against God and why the formation of an angelic army was made to begin with.
We think that what was before Satan was a far more terrifying entity known as the Abyss. It is mentioned many times in the bible and is said to in fact be 'alive'. Somewhere I also found (though for the life of me can't right now) a verse where it says that the abyss was with god before he made the universe. So, with this and the thoughts of a few other religions in play, I think that the Abyss is sort of the yang to God, the yin. God being the embodiment of existence (as everything he does is to create something) and the Abyss is desolation.
So, the angelic armies could have been made to oppose the Abyss, as it's very purpose was to destroy what God made. And to counter Gods angels it made its own demons, creatures far worse than the fallen angels that are under Satan's command.
So what do you think?
π: 0 β©: 1
Zigwolf In reply to Bookdud3 [2015-06-23 06:23:02 +0000 UTC]
I get where you're coming from, I told the whole I'm wrong thing from my sister and her husband alot.Β
Wow, that is an amazing explanation and I love it. It just makes so much sense that there is a true antithesis to God and all of creation that it would the emptiness that came before it.
Once again, love that last part, it actually made me think of something interesting. I'm a guy who thinks science and religion can go together in some way though we haven't found the right way to put them together. Here's what I'm thinking, what if the Big Bang was God and his angel's final assault on the Abyss. As the angels were beating back the Abyss, God was filling what would be the new universe with planets, stars, galaxies, and life and this was to keep the Abyss from becoming as big as it used to be and to start something big that had never been done before after they were victorious.Β

Bookdud3 In reply to Zigwolf [2015-06-23 06:52:01 +0000 UTC]
Ooohh, never thought of that. That actually makes a whole lot of sense, the big bang being the assault on the Abyss.
Speaking of which, I have a story up in fanfic that will be pertaining to this story. Its called The Final Four: Ragnarok (a sequel to a friend of mine named disneydame88)
Also got your DreamWorks story being worked on. Was thinking that the first few chapters be trailer chapters, something like the trailers of RWBY, that way people who don't know the characters or universes will be brought up to speed.
So the first one is Peabody and the idea I had for him is that while Penny and Sherman are...studying? Some monsters come in and kidnap Sherman and penny, which causes Peabody to chase after them. Since the monsters use a device to allow them to transverse universes, Peabody quickly modifies the WAYBACK to do the same.
So what do you think? Does that sound good?

Zigwolf In reply to Bookdud3 [2015-06-25 21:03:57 +0000 UTC]
Glad you agree with my idea.Β
I'll check that out.
That sounds like a really great idea.Β
Really liking that idea, though I think it might be better if Peabody had already experimented with Transdimensional Travel, but never fully tested it out and when Sherman and Penny are taken, he tries it out for the first time.
