Description
Okay. It's Zizi again
No, the green thing is not fire but it's one of the most powerful attacks. It actually consists of tiny leaves
I had drawn Zizi there earlier and (again) added the background. I'm really really happy of how this whole thing turned out. The green blast, the cliffs, the river in the canyon, the trees (I surprisingly managed to draw trees ) and the sky. Everything!
I think I'm going to hang this on my wall if I can find a spare spot somewhere...
This is honestly one of my best works so far!
Critiques would be much appreciated

First of all, I have to say this is indeed one of your best works yet e.deviantart.net/emoticons/c/c⦠" width="20" height="20" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="60" title="Clap"/> The colors of the background are lovely, and the overall atmosphere is really nice

On to the critique then:
While there's light in the background, there seems to be little to no light on the cliffs or on Ziirux; observe how things are shaded during a sunset/sunrise and remember the light source, because it's sometimes the backlight that truly brings your art to life.
The next thing I would suggest is to make the shading more obvious for a more 3D-like effect. It is hard to shade sometimes, but it is as worth it.
Also, I would expect the armor to have some "connecting points", as I like calling them, like between the neck/chest plates and the limb's armor, matching the joints. Else the armor wouldn't allow her to move at all e.deviantart.net/emoticons/x/x⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="93" title="XD"/>
That is all I can say, overall, this is a gorgeous piece of art e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

Thank you so much for the critique
I suck at shading for now but I'm trying hard to improve I'll keep your advice on my mind
I know what you're talking about with the connecting points but the armour on her legs is actually just rings that are connected under so that you just can't see it and the chest plates are attached under the neck plates
Thanks

No problem
Ok One advice I can give you is not to press the (colored) pencil too hard where light falls, and press it harder where there's shadow (does that sound pervented, or is it just me?
) and to try shading with regular pencil first on simple shapes, like triangles and squares, before going to shade more complicated shapes or try with colored pencils
It also helps to draw a derpy sun somewhere to show the light source for when you're practising
I see

Okay, I actually knew that pressure thing already (no, it's not just you but maybe it's just us
) During boring lessons I could try doing that, when I get back to school of course...

You know, for a moment I thought that green stuff was toxic poison but it's actually leaves? How amazing...

The sky I drew with some pastels and the cliffs and other stuff I drew with ordinary colouring pencils For the cliffs I just pressed harder on the sides and not so hard in the middle

I was just about to say the same! Definitely one of your best works so far!
Great armor design, great expression, great background, great use of different shades for the armor.
I congratulate you, my friend.
