Ahhhh Dissidia. Makes me orgasm multiple times just thinking about it.
I also have been playing FFIX again (well okay, I'm watching a friend play it 'cause I forced him to) and I'm re-obsessing over it all over again. I really do think that 9 is my favorite Final Fantasy of all time. <3
BTW, Zidane is fucking awesome. I think I like his original design better just a bit, but I wanted to try drawing his Dissidia design. It's way too facking complicated ghdlsabrekjwakj

I am so back and forth on my favourites now, but I think it's VI, IX, then IV DS. So hard to choose ; A ; IX is the most underrated though, for a game that really deserves love.

Haha, I do that too. For the longest time it was the first one (that was the first one I played when I was too little to even understand most of the words, and my game-savvy brother told me to play them in order), then once I played IV that was my favorite for a good long while. I mean c'mon, you go to the freaking MOON. That was epic back in the day. Then once I played IX that became my favorite quickly, as has been ever since it came out. It feels so much like the old SNES ones I fell in love with.
Plus, Vivi.

Yeah, after 9 I haven't really cared. X was.. eh (especially with the dubbing), and I haven't played 12, but I've heard it lacks development and it sounds too political to me. I'm not a big fan of politics. XDD

XII was okay, but I actually fell asleep at times because after a couple hours of playtime, you get enough "gambits" to do the battling for you, that you just sit there wiggling the analog stick to make the characters move.
There also was no melodramatic romance. Every Final Fantasy has had at least a little bit of melodramatic romance, and I love it. It's the icing on the cake for FF games, at least to me. There was also such a lack of fantasy, even though it took place in Ivalice - the politics just swallowed up the original feel of the previous FFs.
Character designs and towns were beautiful, but I felt so disconnected from the story. I don't really dislike politics, but it just felt so... stale. FF games should feel fresh and new with rich character development and at least SOME romance. plz

Yeah, I know how you feel. There's no excuse.. it's called Final Fantasy. It's not just an RPG.. it's got to have that fantasy there. I love a lot of non-fantasy RPGs, but this is... Final Fantasy! VIII had that problem too to me, I really don't care for much from it. Just a few characters/enemies/songs.
I can do without romance, since I just put it there myself anyway, but yeah, interesting characters is a must. At least give us something to enjoy/work with!
Kuja's damn hard to draw, though. His design is so complicated. I feel bad for not doing more art LOL. Freya makes an amazing cosplay when it's done right, but sometimes the ratty parts look a little cheap, yeah.

That just looks absolutely amazing!!! Not only can you do things that are orgasmically cute to the point where I must flee from you, but this is just so well drawn. I love it even more because I've always been a huge Zidane fan (and Locke fan...afterall, Locke is the FFVI version of Zidane...although I should say that the other way around since Locke was first).

Awesome job there! I really like the colors and shading, it's very well done! The proportions are all pretty good too, nothing immediately noticeable.
Advanced critique, soooo...
Only noticeable thing that looked a little wonky was the weapons. The one in the foreground is pretty good, but the one in the back is a little off, maybe the foreshortening is a bit wrong?
Also, really nitpicky here, but the dagger in front curves a bit, and looks like it's being... bent?... by the forward motion of the EPIC JUMP POSE! It works because it's kind of moving with the 'momentum' of the piece, if you get my meaning, but realistically it's a bit like Zidane is holding a paper dagger that's being bent by the wind or something.
Zidane: ... T_T Why are my daggers made of paper? Oh well! PAPER CUT ATTACK!

There's foreshortening with the weapons, but I'm never good with stuff like that so I'm sure it's off too xDD AND ALSO FYI he's holding the daggers differently in each hand *shot* that was an accident I'm too lazy to fix. I don't like drawing weapons D8

Actually, him holding the weapons differently makes sense, depending on what type of weapon he's fighting against. Reversed grip for better defense, standard grip for better offense/catching weapons between the two blades. He's balanced.
I looked it up, and I WANT TO PLAY THAT GAME SO BAD. I'll wait for the american release, and then... well... I'll have to get a PSP, I guess? That's okay, because Dissidia + Crisis Core = AMAZING. I can't wait to check these out.

Just my opinion xD I was never IN LOVE with VII like most FF fans are, and Crisis Core wasn't my cup of tea. The storyline has just been raped so many times its hard to appreciate it now.

XP I jest. FF 7 is not my favorite either, but I was just impressed by the graphics level of the game, since it was on a handheld. Having not actually seen more than the beginning hour of the game, I'm not one to say if it is good or not, but damn is it pretty looking. XD
Plus, I'm ambiguously gay for Sephiroth, so that doesn't help things much either. I'm a sucker for really good villains, it's a weakness!
