Description one thing I forgot to mention is if you overlay 2 warm or 2 cool light sources the highlight on objects would be more saturated instead of desaturated.

and some materials naturally get its own color more saturated in the highlight like gold or brass,

:3 another tutorial Ive been thinking about how to put this together a long time so it finally happened. I think I'm happy with how this turned out.

I studied deep color theory for hours just to make this tutorial so you don't have too.... You'r welcome:3

I'd love to know what ya'll think and if you can see what i can improve on to explain things better.:3 please leave a comment.

I think its the least you can do for me after Ive spent all day reading theory just to make this tutorial:3

Someone started a rant saying its all not true that light dont work this way.

Okey yes it has nothing to do with actual sience of ligght basicly its just a representation of what actually happen. If you want to know color composition i will go over that. Also feel free to experiment.

Very interesting and good things to know, but the grammar and spelling are seriously horrible and mixing the thickness of the font makes it look like a mess. It doesn't feel serious.

I'm not from England either, but a tip is to try to read what you've written out loud so you know where to pause with an , for example, or to see if the sentence is too long and needs to be shortened or so. And a capital letter at the start of every sentence. And spellcheck or google translate or anything to see if you've spelled it correctly

Edit: Ooh, ser man pΓ₯. Svensk, huh? xD

This is really useful! Thanks for the tutorial, I think you should have made it with a smaller font size but apart from that it was very informative!

your welcome:3

I also did it for myself to have somewhere i can make sure Im doing things right becasue I have tried to make this as correct as i can according to all theory Ive read Β

much better with a summary like this than having to read through the hours of theory in a book:3

ya know what

That is too much reading.

I don't need color theory.

I mean I might have a slightly easier time finding the right colors if I used color theory, but I don't feel like reading.

I should stop being so lazy.

na, I too lazy for that.

yes that,s good but its a lot of things it don't explain and its going over the old way of how we thought color worked in nature.

Dont understand what all the color compositions has with color theory to do. its only rules that you could use to enhance a painting. the way hes teaching color is not how it is realistic but complimentary, splitcomplimentary monochrome and all that is color composition.Β

basicly if its only cyan light in a scene and nothing else maybe in a bacement with a cyan colored lightsource it will appear monochrome even in reality. because local objects cannot reflect a color of light that dont exist. this it only reflect the amount of light their pigments allows and the shadows becomes black.

ofcourse you can have artistic liberty and experiment with colors could still come out realisticly but this indicates there are more sources of lights in the scene even if its not realistic and if all colors of the light exist the color of light is white. thus it will allow all colors in a scene to be reflected to the eye.Β

and no, Β  Β  Β

color in life and in computer is related, only difference is in life you get black or greys from Β mixing all colors together.

the theory is that the less light an object reflects Β the darker it gets Β so black replaced white to simulate this.

and a lot of great traditional lanscape painters are mixing cyan magenta and yellows to create theire pieces and it turns out way more realistic then the primary colors ever could.

IRL mixing cyan and yellow still gives green and adding black is to decrease value.

still if what you want is a more saturated color in your scene you need to use the primary colors to achieve this usually used on foreground grass and leaves on trees.

basicly artists only simulate what the light does.

and the primary colors are impossible to mix with cyan, magenta and yellow if its traditional.

same with the primary colors impossible to mix cyan, magenta and really bright yellow.

its still just a simulation of what actually happen in reverse.

(Read the description of their deviation. They say they realize that CYM is more current)

They do mention though the realisti ally things reflect colors around them.
And as i said this is a more condensed version.
Plus artistically that is more what people are looking for in appealing art.
Not to discredit your tut though

Oh ye im planning to make a separate tut for that but making sure your light family hue shift towards the color of your dominant light and your shadow your ambient light is a really good way to make something appealing are more to it as well but it deserves a second tutorial for color composition.

Hehe:3 its way less complex then the hours of reading I had to do, then try to explain it all in as little text as possible:3

Basicly here you get 2 hours of theory in less than 5 minutes. ^^

I'd say 30 min for me

(I'm a slow reader, especially when I am not very engaged by the reading.)
