Slenderman doesn't originate from Marble Hornets, his legend can be traced back to Germany as far back as the 1600's. Of course he wasn't called Slenderman back then. Though the popular view on just who and what Slenderman is, is heavily influenced by Marble Hornets

Yes, i know this. I was recently getting back into the creepypasta fandom when i drew this pic and wrote the description.
I hadn't known a lot about creepypasta when i liked it much before. I only had liked it because youtube gamers i liked were playing slender and i was just checking out some stories.
I hadn't bothered to check much about the slenderman a while back because i only really liked the silly game. But now that im back into the fandom, i felt looking at slenderman's history sounded more interesting now than it did then.
