Description

The Original Artwork is by vashperado. and can be found here, called..   .r e. .c h a r g e.

I wanted to give this picture a go at converting, due to all the reflections in the window, plus what was outside the window. I did have a few problems due to the colours affecting my left eye with anaglyph glasses. But I did the best I can.

I think, with a little more messing around with it, I could make it a little easier on my left eye. I could only push the stars back a little way beyond the refection, and did attempt to push them further back. But this then seemed to put a strain on your eyes a little too much, with everything else in and through the window.

I did not notice at first, but I am sure there is someone in a chair, with their back towards us in the reflection. See what else you can see?

Amazing reflects on the glass. It made me ask myself how the depth was perceived through a mirror or a glass. Nice transparency too. You should post your depthmap because I think there is a lot to learn from it.

Thanks, It's nice to know you liked it. I did, and maybe able, to push the stars further backward for much more depth. But I am still working on why the stars are not as far as I wished them to be. I didn't make any part of the picture transparent either. It was all done in one go with just one depth map.

It did however, try different ways to make it work, and came up with many problems to solve too. Now I know how I did it this time, if I where to start again, I am sure I can get a slightly better result.

This one just took a long time to do, and a bit at a time.

Well, I think it looks really good. I have already worked on transparency and I didn't see a problem with your stars xmancyclops.deviantart.com/art…

"madforstereo" hit it - - nothing like tackling a real challenging situation.  Great result though.

I guess this is that one you've been on about with those reflections...? You could hardly have picked a harder one & you did an amazing job on it! Highly favourable, my friend

Yes, this was the one I was on about.. I did say I like a challenge lol.

Much more could have been done to the girl this side of the window, such as her t-shirt, hair, arms, just to give a little more 3D effect. But my challenge was more the window itself.

I did find out some answers for possible problems to get around on other pictures, and that is mainly to do with the conflicting colours that interfere with our eyes using red/blue glasses. It was possible to make a copy in photoshop of the original 2D picture, and play with the saturation and vibrance levels etc, while having the 3D glasses on. Taking turns in closing each left or right eye, you can play with the levels to get the left ey more comfortable, and to see more of the image.

You can then make 2 sets of 3D pictures. One set with the original 2D picture, and the other set with the altered colours etc. Then only use the original right side, together with the altered left side for more comfort on the left eye, or Red filtered lens.

Some people would say this is the same as doing 'Half Colour' 3D, but doing it manually, you can do a bit more to it than just half colour.
