That's and United Nations deterrent. Not all Earth timelines are exactly friendly towards one another, and the Liberal-led UN is always on a lookout to grab some land as well.

HECU is the main force consisting of US Marines, Army and Airforce personnel that has the greatest experience, arguably first one to enter parallel universes via Border World Xen, and sucessfully defeating the wannabe-invaders. They provide the bulk of J-SAG personnel and equipment.

SOROU is Soviet equivalent and mostly bases it's structure on HECU doctrine, with more reliance on intermediate CAS than Americans do due to lack of Orbit-to-Surface air capabilities; it's the second larger contributor.

Off-World Reaction force is Pan-Asian task force mostly maintened by ROK and Japan.

Black Hand consists of larger Sudafrican and India-Nepal private contractors and special forces operatives.

Unit 11 is the most secretive of the bunch and belongs to British Commonwealth
