Description
Ossirian, last boss in Ahn'Qiraj (WoW). I love Egyptian stuff so he was fun to draw. Referenced of course, speedy job too. Notihng special but was fun and I liked playing with the colours.SAI.
Heiroglyphics read "Horusath".

So do I, in some ways they were better (raid/instance/plot wise) but the new systems they put in since then also improved the game a lot too.

Yeah, but some things I don't like at all. Like in the old days, getting epics WERE epics. Not many had epics back then unless you raid, and if you had epics you owned everything. Now it doesn't matter, everything is epic. >_>
There's other things that made me not play the game anymore, not gonna whine about it here. xD

hahaha I dont mind you whining. See I never had a guild and I wasn't really in a position to raid regularly and like, make a date every week for a big raid, also my connection was bad and it was unpredictable so I'd have never got raid spots, so for me the old days were a bit crappy cuz there was no other way to get those nice gears (well, I guess stratholme farming but again, connection issues etc). So I am glad they made it a little more open with the options for solo players or people who casually go to instances, but you're right it's gotten way too easy now, and levelling, and everyting else is just easymode. Takes the point away a bit, I got mates who have no clue how to play their class and have good gear cuz they are nubs and still get in the instances. Annoying

Ah, well its good that some things do change! Also, I wouldn't have raided if it weren't for my IRL friends. That's also one of the big reasons I even played WoW, because of playing together with my friends.
However I'm MUCH more geekier than my friends, so I almost always time on my hands and could farm stuff to make special items etc. (I were greedy back then, not spending gold on the AH, but now I know you don't "save" your gold because of the time you spent farming, you just could spent it on AH and get it right away and after that sell items on AH to get the gold back.)
I can say that I'm also a solo player, mostly because I have so many alts (before I quit I had 10 chars on one server, all at lvl 70 or higher.) So I haven't really put much effort into one character vanilla WoW (I only raided/played with my warlock in vanilla WoW.)
There are some benefits of having many alts, you know how they should be played and when you are fighting against a class you have, you know what skills they have etc.
I remember the time I created my first character, the world of Warcraft were so cool and it felt like I were playing in the Warcraft saga. Now it feels like, Raid this, Arena that, nothing has to do with the Warcraft saga at all. :/

I like levelling alts, for sure. I can't stay focussed on making one character amazingly epic. The only two that come close are my two level 80 characters, paladin and druid, but even they aren't fully geared up yet. I don't play seriously for the moment, I only ever play with my friends when I play for long periods of time in the evening. As you say the direction is a bit vague now, as I guess they had a lot of lore to work with back in vanilla WoW and everything is more intricately plotted out etc. I have recently been reading up on the lore and the stories behind some of the re-occurring characters etc which I really enjoy doing.
Haaaa about the gold thing, I am the same. I never used to buy anything on AH. I would farm until I got what I needed, all my prefessions are the same, unless I see anything really cheap nowadays I dont buy from people on the server. To be honest because of the fast pace, everything is overpriced because everyone's "rixh" and also lazy, so you can make thousands of gold in one night (I do so myself, due to having 9 alts on my server I accummulate a ton of crafting mats etc and cuz I have played for years I know the use for every item/mat ever lol x____x).
I mainly use the game as a way to communicate with friends I don't get to see/spend time with in real life, and my boyfriend and I have been playing together a few years so it helps pass the time when we are apart from long periods of time. My connection is still crap as well so it limits what I can do seriously.

Hehe, I understand what you mean, I'm the same. If you have an all epic'ed out character, then what do you do? You level alts! xD
I can say the reason I played is two things, one being able to play with my friends. The second were the lore behind the whole saga. I played Warcraft 3 a lot and WoW was the "next" step. There were some cool lore type of things in vanilla, but I think they progressed with the lore the most in Wrath of the Lich King though. And with TBC they really messed up the lore I think, in that expansion there were only "kill this boss, farm that" but in Wrath there are some overall progress.
I'm thinking of buying the new expansion when it comes out, but I'm not sure. I have to read more about it after it's been released.

Haha yeah, most of the players don't know what they are doing/should be doing. I laugh at those who were dumb pricks who thought they knew EVERYTHING. They don't deserved to be helped.
But when I played and I played with a new player (who is kind) I almost always gave them advice on "important" stuff, like how to do the boss in an instance etc.
I think you have to have luck on your side when grouping. xD
I have to know if any of my friends will play the expansion or I won't be buying it I think. But as I said, still want to see more info about it when it's released (and hope the lore is good/better than wrath!

This is very good. The colouring is simple but great. I love how he sort of has a glowy look to him. So ironic too. I was just in there this morning farming rep and a pattern with my gf. I love being in there too. The whole place has a great design.

I missed out on the days when it was lvl 60 raid :< But I have been there to look around since, it's a gorgeous place! I totally agree with you, i love being there too. The creatures are probably some of my faves i nthe game
