I feel like its difficult to keep hope mended together. Although, it fights to keep a level of balance. Excellent job.

Beautiful work! I love that its not the stereotypical "pretty" drawing. It has an edge, the features are twisted, the drawing has a darker side. Also, the background gives a great effect, and the colors blend and work well together.

Great job! I like how it's not just a regular face that is edited. It is a somewhat perverted (twisted and changed), and the vines/webs are a great effect. The background is great. Good Job.

that is by far my ultimate favourite piece on deviantart.
it makes me think of being captured, the cool hues, it's terrifying in a way that no other art has scared me.
it is simply amazing.

i feel obliged to answer
I feel pieces of someone's reality being pulled away string by string, all thats left being held by an alien force intruding on the delicate balace that is their pain.

...wow very nice i like the color of choice also i have to say that pastel is a pain to use, at first glance i thought you used watercolors for the mountains/clouds. Actually you know what... yeah im gonna favorite this pic, nice job

This reminds me of a piece done by Joe Hess (an amateur artist, as far as I am aware). I saw some of his pieces in 2003, they featured fragmented masks being pulled apart by chains over an abstract background. If I can find a link (I think he's torn his pieces down now, oh the shame), I'll post it.

It looks like wind blowing flesh apart; it's haunting, lonely, and beautiful at the same time. I like how you did the background--it looks to me like a cross between Aurora Borealis and fiery lava sky against a snowy glaicier.
This is my first time dropping by your page, I got directed here through a link to your journal entry about leaving better comments. I hope to see more of your work soon!
Do you have any other pieces similar to this one?

This is so surreal, I get that dreamy feeling when you look at Salvador Dalis or Renee Margrittes paintings. It looks kind of evil, in a cold way. Is there a reason why the face is falling apart? (or are the black pins putting the face togheter?) You have really made an eyecatching effect with the colours, blue and orange. beautiful. And the texures are perfectly done techicnaly. This must have taken days, amazing work. I have to fav it so I can take a closer look. There are so many details.

The straight lines in contrast to the jagged edges where there appear to be depictions of a face are really complimenting to each other, this is a really impressive piece of work.

I'm somewhat dumbfounded. The idea for this is incredible, fathoming how you can posess the artistic vision to dream up, and then execute this is difficult to grasp, but congratulations. You have created a masterpiece.

Right now Im having roommate issues. I finally let my self be known on how I didnt appreciate her and her guy getting it on all the time while I was in the room. and she just thinks Im a horrible person now because I said she was inconsiderate. its a mess.
This is how I feel. So torn, tattered. Theres nothing left to make a stand.
But at the same time it makes me feel relaxed. Like its ok to be tattered. I still exist, and the sun still sets. The world still has beauty in it...
Very interesting.

I feel desolate
I feel alone
I feel threatened
I feel sad
I feel awed
I feel stretched...
That is what I feel. From looking at this.
Amazing stuff, the background provides an amazing atmosphere to set up the face in, and the face is amazing in itself. You've achieved a great flow with it.

Are we torn is is this our true selves? Are we painted or are we tortured? Are we transparent or is there a wolrd of colour behind our exteriors? This image really summons a multitude of questions about the human psyche for me. It is by no means litteral, but it is imposing on my innermost questions about us as human beings.
With all the beauty of the landscape, I find myself asking weather we a glitches in time, something that will eventually be torn apart and forgoten, leaving the world behind us? Are we simply here to experiance? I have been staring at this image for I don't know how long, and the questions that have been raised by it cover all aspects of life and the questions that surround it.
For me the meaning of the image has been imprinted twice. Firstly, asking weather the colour of our skin really matters, or are we all black and white with the colour inside us, a different world of vibrancy for one and all, contained within? The second meaning I keep drawing from this image is weather it is about storytelling. Is it saying that we as a race can do and be whatever we want; we can each even be torn or faded, but in the end we will realise that out ultimate achievements will still be locked, clear and beautiful, colourful and vibrant within ourselves, behind those eyes, behind out skin and behind out personalities?
It would seem that as a race we live and breath these stories of our past and the past of those like us. We lock it all away and be it that our story comes out when we are gone, or that we tell the story through our own manipulating eyes, the story is told, our inner world is unlocked for a short space of time befor once again the forces that be put us back together again, weaving their magic wands and repairing our minds.

Hmm...since you ask for our feeling, here's mine after i seen it.
This piece of artwork gives me a sense of utterly helplessness, A combination of loneliness yet sad. But with the face now torn and separated from each other, it becomes a totally different thingy altogether. Now, he feels free yet uneasy as things are better as a whole than broken up in pieces.

Very nice abstract image. I like the blend here between sureal, and abstract. YOu can see the naturalistic human form in the face but is broken and frayed which reminds me of surealism. Yet the background is so clearly abstract. I love the way you have them blended here The consept is pure and untainted. Very nice image..... The colors are nicely chosen they contrast nicely yet blend in the overall appearance to make a very nice composition! Keep up the good work.

Its so unusual, the way the face hangs onto those black beams. I like the variations of colors in the back ground. The detail is very rich and really brings out the surreallity of the piece.
