I can't help but think of the irony of a firebreather bonded to an alien that has heat as a weakness. I guess that would how Mario defeats him.

Hereβs the thing: The Venom symbiote is more vulnerable to extremely loud sound at high enough frequencies than it is to fire. If this were the Carnage symbiote on Bowser instead, the fire would be a greater issue since Carnageβs weaknesses are flip-flopped from Venomβs. Even with that, the symbiotes themselves slowly build up a tolerance for those weaknesses and they get less effective over time.Β
If someone gets the Venom symbiote after Bowser loses it, they get all his different abilities since the symbiote will adapt to learning them and becoming less vulnerable to them as a result.Β

From what I've seen the weaknesses of the symbiote's are entirely based on what the plot needs. Venom is supposedly weak sonic vibrations, but Reed Richard's sonic gun had no effect on him. Carnage is supposedly more weak to fire than sonics, yet he was defeated by sonics in his first appearance.
