Could try using grey scale setting for the scanner instead of colour, might pick up more of the shading.

Don't use to strong line. Actually, don't use it at all. Just more shadows, and you'll see what you gonna get.

Ok. It just, the strong line is mostly used in anime and manga, you know, cartoon stuff. That's you. But you should just try... Keep your style
