but it simply isn't mine...
I can write for you a poem,
but I can't give you the rhyme...
Though I can lend to you my ear,
I can't give you
what I see and hear...
Eye could give to you a clock,
but never : time."

The GIF was made for this short word-play... Or was the poem written for the GIF? They sort of arose almost at the same time and is based on something I say to people I adore: per te, la luna baby !

In any case, GIF and poem are both involved with major themes that recur throughout my work: though time is eternal, people are transitory.

Ownership of things is just an idea. Here I'm saying: if I could give you the moon, I would - that's how wonderful you are. But it's not mine to give. Arguable the 'artifacts' we can give to people are meaningless. The real things in life are not to own. They are to share.

You can't own the moon. But you can see it. You can watch time pass, but you can't change it. The art-deco clock I used in this GIF actually appears to be showing the various stages of the moon.

It's got a lobeless eye and a bleak lunar landscape. It's got a clock that eternally spins that gradually transforms into the spinning of the moon, both trapped forever within the clock who metes out the time which will eventually result in their death.

Remember: in strange aeons, even death may die, i.e. time has no meaning to the cosmos.

It's got a poem and a theme to make you think about the things we often take for granted...

It's just what you always wanted!!!

I try to create GIFs in a series that can be used to communicate simple and striking messages that everyone can use. But they are intended to be ambiguous, have double meanings and often tell a story if they are looked at in a series.

I love the fact that you can add your own tags to them and that you can use them yourself to communicate messages yourself.

ZIZBILIT GIFs stand opposed to the cute smiling kittens of GIF imagery. They have multiple intended meanings, and any number I didn’t intend.

Then there are the ones you apply! You can attach your own tags to them so that you can call them up and use them yourself!!
