The first animated GIF in the DON'T FUCK WITH PUSSY series.

This is the first one that has the dubious honor of being censored by both TENOR and GIPHY!

What are they? Pearl clutchers?

It's actually a parody of cute kitties being used all over the internet to communicate almost everything as stickers, emojis and animated GIFs as well as in fact all over the world in various different ways. Venerating cats goes back to the Ancient Egyptians; but you see them today everywhere, i.e. Sitting cats with a single paw waving or "Hello Kitty" as a marketing phenomenon from Japan... and especially on almost every hallmark greeting card.

Psaw to them!

Zachar say: if you want to use cute little cutties to communicate sugary sweet messages (which I like getting as much as anyone else does), you should also have to chance to communicate terrible and horrifying ones as well.

This is a clear two finger salute to not only emoji and sticker tradition but to the abuse of the image of cute kitties all over the world and throughout history!

But it's also a veneration of the tradition. In parodying something you are at the same time recognizing its cultural force.

The question is this: why is it being censored? The young people I show it to think it's hilarious! They get it. But it boths some people who really think I want to do damage to actual cats.

The title of the GIF series is a multi-levelled reference, by the way; firstly to the Netflix TV series which shows ACTUAL cats being damaged. My GIF is comparatively harmless. Get this: they're censoring a cute little pretend kitty [with google cutesy fake eyes) being replaced in a simple animation with a red fluid).

Being censored sucks. But something entirely harmless which questions the existing tradition is not only frustrating, but also a bit scary.

...And if you're clutching your pearls and wondering if I really hate cats: please think thrice. I love ACTUAL cats.

With the logic of you getting disturbed by this little pretend kitty getting blended, you should be considerably more angry at the Chinese who force little pretend cats shake their paws at people for their whole lives! How could they do that to kitty!! It's torture I'm telling you!!!

I do, however, respect your right to clutch your pearls as it is the natural gesture we all have to thinks which may at first appear to offend us. It's the lizard brain in action! You probably wouldn't be surprised to discover that there's another GIF series called "I speak to lizards"...

With art, you have to look a little closer and find out how and why the lizard's been stimulated into overtaking your rational critical thinking.
