……It almost looks like the reflection as been painted on, while the hard line of the Skyscraper against the the horizon makes a good contrast!...Great Work!

Why you would value my input I am not quite sure, but thank you for doing so!....Yes the advice given to crop, was certainly good advice my friend, it no longer has that hard line on the right (the building), which could detract your eye from the overall composition....I feel the manipulation of the same photo, is extremely well executed, but lacks the raw feeling of vertigo the original possesses!

The sunrise while beautiful in colour, could possibly do with a few enhancements, by maybe accentuating the reds against the shadows...but then that's just what I would do!

You have perceptions of colors as reflected in your work.
You come across as thoughtful an caring in your choice of words.
I am often given conflicting advice as with Reflection.
Also "I don't know what the h... I'm doing.
Hope to get a better understanding and "software".

Thank you for the astute observations of my commentary friend,
it's very much appreciated,
as indeed I do put thought into what it is I write.

Conflicting advice i am sure you will get sometimes,
because of the fact that what one person may see as great,
the other may not!...The question is,
"how you the artist feels,
and the emotive effect you would like the viewer to feel"?

But in the end,
there really is no right or wrong in these circumstances!

I have said to another on this subject. If there is a standard in photography adjustments I hope to learn, however I feel it is more the opinion of the individual. My Spin on conflicting advice.Staying true in photography is my goal,no idealistic versions where colors are enhanced beyond any naturally occurring. This is not my thoughts for the creative artist, that license knows no bounds.
Some of my old film scans do this on their own [link]

The cupola of the reflected building looks like the ones on several buildings around my college campus. Very nice. Not sure how I feel about the little bit of brick at the right. Part of me thinks it would look better with it cropped out, another part think it adds depth.

Nice shot either way.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

zjessez In reply to Travito [2011-02-02 21:20:20 +0000 UTC]

Well you have the prevailing opinion on the brick. It is there to show where we were and perspective.I took a few shots and chose the bricks. But look [link]
and then this [link]
A real fun time with this.Thank you your input is right in agreement with so many others.

Travito In reply to zjessez [2011-02-03 02:22:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. Looking at the cropped version, I'm kind of glad the brick is there. The angle limitation you have from shooting out of the window you were at makes the building look flat in the cropped one, so the brick, while slightly distracting, ultimately accomplishes the task of adding the depth you need.

Very good. Keep it up!

Taking and choosing from several pictures the wall seemed to add the location of where we were. That's why Reflection's Reflection. We wanted to see which room we were in.
