I know I'm no Ansel Adams but...
I believe this is one of the peaks of Cathedral Rocks located in Yosemite National Park, California. If you ever have a chance to visit Yosemite even briefly, don't hesite to do it! It's very well worth it.

And by the way... I saw the colored photo you took similar to this... and I must say, the b/w is much better. (in my opinion). It has a much more dramatic effect...

Yes, I totally agree with you. I didn't realize it at first, but black and white suits the grandeour of Yosemite much better. I might replace the colour shots I have in my gallery with black and white versions later, but we'll see...
