I really love this spin on the original concept of a mermaid. Especially the angler fish-like features to it and beautiful colors! I also really like your use of texture--even the background itself helps to finish off this piece nicely--this is definitely a favorite of mine. I will say, however, that in some areas it looks a little sloppy--like the actual face of the woman and the "tongue"
Overall, awesome job!
